Personally I think the whole starship program is a head fake and that for reasons only known to Elon they are purposely crashing each of the prototypes so that everyone things it is an abject failure, like the Las Vegas high speed tunnel system Elon built in a couple of years.

Critics described it as the most Boring Disney ride ever while ignoring the fact that in a relatively short time frame it was built at all using highspeed tunnel equipment.
