This is SOOOOOO true. If only we had genuine conservative leaders who STAY CONSERVATIVE and don't move to the Left, we'd be on top of the situation. But our biggest problem is not the Left - it's betrayal by people who call themselves conservatives and Republicans.

I don't think Trump and other people in the upper echelon are going to be such great actors they can put on a well-played pretense of being either US-hating liberals or MAGA-loving conservatives.

However, I think Trump is more resentful of personal, non-political conflict while many of his political foes are more resentful of ideological conflict.

So a smooth talking, cheap-flattering anti-MAGA liberal stroking Trump's ego will bother Trump less than a staunch conservative who complains he has bad breath and eats too much junk food.

I know. It's absolutely horrible. I was born and raised here, it was good when I was a kid and teen but in the late 70s and 80s it changed into a goddam liberal paradise and I absolutely hate it. But we've been stuck for a couple of decades taking care of one elderly demented relative after another and we couldn't move them. I guess that's life but now we're old and wondering what the hell to do.
