You know I cannot even phantom to have even seen the world for how long you have been in the world. So I have no way to know how to give you some peace for your mind.

trying to picture the world in your eyes, for that long when I'm still a pup myself. if you don't feel accomplished, at least you can say, you survived the distances, and still going. and that alone is amazing it self.

I always felt this way. I dont fit in, because I cant accept people following ideologies, doctrines, propaganda instead of just reason. People were always sheep, but now it's really bad. Feels like new dark ages.

I'm white, 52 and a cop. This country has gone bonkers. I really feel bad for the younger people who didn't get to grow up in a country that you were proud of.

Are you thinking of quitting the profession ? I'm about the same age as, so it's not easy at that age but the risk vs rewards don't seem to be worth it anymore.

I am 50, also. This world has lost its mind! Wouldn't it be nice if we could just drop these kids today off in 1985 and see how long they make it?

No cell phones or technology of any kind. Had to use your imagination or, God forbid, read a book! Half of them would lose their minds instantly the moment a devotion and prayer was read over the loudspeaker in high school. But, on the plus side, they wouldn't have to worry about any school shootings (even though half of the boys in school had their hunting rifles proudly displayed in the back window of their trucks). Sad to see how quickly we have descended into hell.

I have 5 years left until I retire, I'm actually a deputy and I transferred to courts so hopefully I can ride that out to greener pastures.

Trump was like a nice day in the middle of a week long rainstorm, and now we can look forward to another 4-8 years of Covid communist Clown World, moving from one disaster to the next, all while being socially scolded if white.

To be honest, I'm not even sure what "accomplished" means anymore. For me, that's right up there with being "successful."

Seriously, though, what does it mean to be accomplished and successful?

At nearly 50 years old, I still have no idea what that means. (Although, I appreciate your comment—no disrespect to you.)

My spouse is comfortably retired, and my business supports our "retired" ventures as they arise. We've stayed together for over 25 years despite the ups and downs. Our children are grown, and they're happy and healthy. Does that count as a success?

Who knows. Certainly not me.

I do hope that you get to experience life for all that it has to offer. But I also worry that you, and those who are your age, don't have a chance to truly enjoy it.

For now, I think I'll pack up and head into the hills.

I hear ya, man. But, like anything else worth experiencing, you gotta take the contrast and work through it, I suppose.

The pros and cons of life are abundant. But, seriously, I'm so ready for the pros now.

Thankfully, I've never been one to follow the pack. Even more so when the pack is headed for a cliff. They call me a "black sheep" and a "trouble maker" but, meh, whatever.

Eh, I say fuck the crowd. You do you, man. If you want to love, then do that. Don't subscribe to the clown world around you—even if it's inevitable.
