"Mirrors" was issued as the second single from The 20/20 Experience on February 11, 2013. It went on to top the Australian Urban, Bulgarian, European, Lebanese, Polish, South African and United Kingdom singles charts, being Timberlake's fourth number-one single in the UK. It peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped the Mainstream Top 40 in the United States. "Mirrors" was ranked at number six on the Year-End Hot 100 chart. The song was met with positive reviews by critics upon release and received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Pop Solo Performance. Its music video won two MTV Video Music Awards, including Video of the Year. As of 2018, the song has sold over 3.9 million downloads in the US.

On Spotify, "I Don't Care" which garnered astonishing 16.241 million streams in the first 24 hours, debuted with 10.977 million daily global streams, breaking the streaming platform's single-day streaming record and subsequently topping the previous record of 10.819 million, set by Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You".[17][18] It has topped the Spotify Global chart for six weeks as of June 2019.[19] It debuted at number one on the UK Singles Chart on 17 May 2019, becoming Sheeran's sixth and Bieber's seventh UK number one and remaining there for eight consecutive weeks.[20][21] It debuted at number 2 on the US Billboard Hot 100 behind "Old Town Road" by Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus and stayed at that position for a second week.[22][23] The song also became Sheeran's fourth number one on the Billboard Mainstream Top 40, while it marked Bieber's sixth number one on the chart.[24] On Billboard's Dance/Mix Show Airplay, it became the second number one for Sheeran and the fifth chart topper for Bieber.[25]

The song initially gained popularity on the social video sharing app TikTok and eventually entered the Billboard charts in March 2019.[3] The song reached number 19 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart before the magazine disqualified it from the chart on the grounds that it did not fit the genre, sparking a debate on the definition of country music. Though it was not re-entered onto the overall country charts, both versions of the song collectively peaked at number one on the general Billboard Hot 100, for a record-breaking nineteen consecutive weeks. The song was certified diamond by the RIAA in October 2019 for selling ten million total units in the United States, the fastest song to be certified diamond.[4] At the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards, the remix featuring Billy Ray Cyrus was nominated for Record of the Year and won Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Best Music Video.

Commercially, the song topped the charts of thirteen countries. It spent seven weeks at number one on the Canadian Hot 100 and three weeks at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100; "Sorry" was replaced by third single "Love Yourself" on the chart dated February 13, 2016, making Bieber the 12th act in the Hot 100's history to succeed himself at number one. He also accomplished the same feat in the United Kingdom, becoming the third act ever to self-replace at the top of the UK Singles Chart. Globally, the song became one of the best selling digital music releases with over 10 million in sales in 2016 alone.[2]

The music video directed by Jason Zada was released on December 1, 2014.[4] The video shows Trey Songz in the font of black background. Fans are allowed to click several symbols with different interaction effect of Trey and the girls.

The video began with Trey waking up from his bed and was offered two pills by a woman. If the red pill was chosen, a red-clad woman will come out of a red rose. If the blue pill was chosen, a woman with a white furry cloak will come out of a frozen tree. The next option is between a burning ice and a mirror. If the burning ice was chosen, two girls, one with red body paint and flames around her body, the other one with blue body paint, will approach Trey. If the mirror was chosen. A woman in a black bikini will come out, the woman will slowly disappear in shadow. The third option is between a blue scarf and a diamond. If the scarf was chosen, a blond girl will come out and lip-sync the lyrics. If the diamond was chosen, a woman in a shiny diamond dress will come out. Nicki Minaj's part began with her sitting on a throne with a cane, and a few scene with Trey. The last option is between a withered tree with two snakes on top of it and a flock of butterfly. If the tree was chosen, a snake-dancer with a helmet will appear and seduce Trey with dances and snakes. If the butterfly flock was chosen, a girl will come out and summon a flock of butterfly towards Trey. The video ends with Trey waking up from a dream.
