I know a few places actively trying to hire drivers... these places interview 10-20 people a week... They usually hire on the spot and the drivers don't show up.

It's not just the trucker industry. All over many places are feeling the effects from lack of workers wanting to work.

If you hand out money to everyone over and over, they won't do the jobs that take them away from families for extended time quite as easily. We are doing this to ourselves, and the only possible outcome is going to be inflation.

Planned or not, it's been building up for a long time already. Like 2 years ago I had to pay 10'000USD to organize haulage for one 40" dry container from Minnesota to Florida.

My husband is a fuel hauler. He is having to work some of his scheduled days off because they are short of drivers. One large company is offering a $10,000 driver sign on bonus.

To be honest it just reminds me of the drama when they said truck drivers are gonna strike. Do you realize if most of us don't pay attention non of it affects us at all. Ok gas is up ok food is up but people been screaming hyper inflation for how long?
