I know a few places actively trying to hire drivers... these places interview 10-20 people a week... They usually hire on the spot and the drivers don't show up.

It's not just the trucker industry. All over many places are feeling the effects from lack of workers wanting to work.

Crude hauler here. Was working in West Texas. Was making 130,000 plus the last 2 year's. Bottom fell out made 80k last year will be lucky to break 45k this year. I relocated back home DFW. Commute to work almost isn't worth it. But I invested wisely in a fully paid nest egg so no financial worries. Our futures are fading fast. All is lost. Could not imagine going through all this BS with a family in tow, mortgage, and vehicle payments. Bless you that are struggling.

The only intelligent response so far in this thread.There is not a driver shortage,there is a lack of quality drivers shortage.So many companies are hiring, that drivers will put little effort into staying with a company.A small disagreement with dispatch and they will leave truck and call another company.Because they know companies are desperate.
