If you have body aches, joint pain, lacking energy or arthritis read this -
I'm only on day 4 and the change is dramatic..

So recently I changed my diet to an anti-inflammatory diet and it has done miracles for my condition which is - body aches and pains - pain in my hands and feet like arthritis, knees, elbows, back and my spine at the base of my neck. When it is bad my entire body aches and I felt debilitated and almost unable to get out of bed. Just really horrible..

I was in shock how dramatic the change in how I felt was. My hands no longer felt swollen and pain everywhere diminished.

So what I do ?

It turns out in almost everything you eat, there are certain toxins. Why is that? The reason is that most plants developed certain toxins which deter animals from eating them.

Some of these things are your staple foods, and may make up the majority of what you eat. I was shocked when I first read about it because you get the impression that these are good for you. Perhaps for some people they can be good, but for many they are devastating and cause havoc throughout your body.

Not everyone is as susceptible to it but upwards of 20% or higher is. I suspect the percentage of people affected is even higher than that. Maybe it is everyone to different degrees. A lot of the damage is created by triggering an autoimmune response which causes your body to damage the lining of your gut which triggers inflammation and prevent nutrients to be taken up. Many diseases are caused by the resulting malnutrition and inflammation. They can cause inflammation by other mechanisms as well.

Which plants cause this havoc?

In general:

- All seeds from grasses AKA grains: Wheat, Corn, Rice, Oats, Rye, Barley and all their products (Yes that would include beer!, bread, pastries, etc.)

- All nuts and seeds in general

- All legumes (Beans, lentil, peas, etc.)

- Milk (Milk contains a protein called Casein that can cause inflammation)

- Nightshade vegetables (potato, tomato, eggplant, peppers, etc)

- All animals that feed on corn and soy.

- Alcohol

So that about everything - all food and everything you love!

So what do you eat?

Basically you eat - Tubers other than potato, Wild fish, Pasture raised or wild meat, Vegetables other than Nightshades, Fruit in moderation (since high blood sugar levels also trigger inflammation.)

** High blood sugar levels also trigger inflammation so you want to moderate anything that is highly glycemic or high in sugar or simple carbs.

At first I thought it would be difficult but it turned out to be much easier than expected.

My starches are various tubers and squash family vegetables. These are great steamed. You can saute in a pan w olive oil or ghee later if you want.

I can't afford pasture raised or grassfed meats all the time but thats OK. I think the big ones to avoid is - grains, legumes and milk.

Try it for a month see how you feel.

bump bingo, takes the fun out of eating, but you gotta decide how you want to feel! Fasting works great as well! Amazed how good I feel when not eating anything! Good luck!!!!!!5a

Not quite accurate though. I've been reading about this. Meat's not so good, and the most anti-inflammatory food isn't mentioned, which is berries. Also saurkraut's very good.

For starches/carbs - there are all these interesting tubers that people eat in S. America and Africa. In my area, I take a trip to a grocery or supermarket near an ethnic neighborhood and you find them. I steam them then sometime saute in butter, ghee or olive oil w salt pepper, its great.

Also green squash (Asian pumpkin) steamed then sauteed the same way is also great.

I used to think the same way but - on the contrary..

It turned out all my problems came from trying to avoid meat and living organisms.

Most of the problem is animal fat so you try to eat lean meats. However with the cutting out of a high percentage simple carbs, you lose a ton of weight and fat, and the little animal fat you eat is not so bad anymore in fact necessary.

Certain meat is not as good - like I mentioned - that feeds on soy and corn, which is basically almost all meat. But pasture raised or grass fed meat is better.

Also by stewing and cooking meats well you can destroy a lot of the lectins and inflammatory proteins. That goes for most foods. But as the diet proclaims, the amount of inflammatory proteins in meat is much less than legumes and grains.

As far as berries - they are fruits.. I mentioned them.

I used to eat a lot of blueberries since I heard they were anti - inflammatory but the difference was negligible (Actually I didn't notice any change). Only when I went on a strict AIP diet did I get the dramatic difference.

Also, if you must eat those inflammatory foods (like legumes), cook them real well including meats. Cooking breaks down a lot of the proteins that cause the inflammation which include - glutens, lectins and lectin-like proteins like casein. Pressure cooker is even better I hear, but I just avoid them altogether.

Another thing to consider with inflammation and food is AGE's (Advanced Glycation End products)which are created when you bake, fry, grill, etc. Basically high or dry heat creates them. They are also naturally high in certain fats like animal fat.

You have a few different types of Sweet Potato/'Yams' and they're great. Every day is like thanksgiving.

You just can't eat so much where they raise your blood sugar too high.

sounds like a keto diet. i prefer the paleo diet, more doable. keto is like, if you eat one chip it takes another week to get into ketosis, i still like my cheat meals too which keto forbids. paleo is the most all around best. and if you dont want the whole wheat pastas then you can get veggie made pastas. therea alternatives.

An easy way to cook tubers is with one of those ceramic chinese pots.

You throw in a combination of root vegetables and cook them on the burner on very low heat for about 45 minutes.

Perfect!

I did this not because I was worried about my diet but just because it was so easy and I don't like to go to all the trouble of cooking recipes.

most people cannot eat like that

it is an expensive diet for one

it would have been natural to eat like that hundreds of years ago if you lived in a resource rich coastal region

Not true for everyone. I have lyme disease and I eat only meat and vegetables. Any deviations immediately impact my physical health. Anti-inflammatory stuff helps, but if you eliminate what flared you up in the first place, you don't need it.

My family and myself went to a Homeopathic Doctor in the mid-90s

They did a test to find what we were allergic to.

I was expensive BUT they were able to get rid of the allergies for all of us

Homeopathic remedies is what he used.

His name was Dr Royal at the Nevada Clinic, Lav Vegas, Nevada

He is probably passed on but the clinic may still be there

There are a lot of cures out there for a lot of diseases

You really have to search

Good luck with your life...
