Meat's not so good, and the most anti-inflammatory food isn't mentioned, which is berries. Also saurkraut's very good. Quoting: Light Bulb [link to www.hunker.com (secure)] The above doesn’t list many options : ( For starches/carbs - there are all these interesting tubers that people eat in S. America and Africa. In my area, I take a trip to a grocery or supermarket near an ethnic neighborhood and you find them. I steam them then sometime saute in butter, ghee or olive oil w salt pepper, its great. Also green squash (Asian pumpkin) steamed then sauteed the same way is also great. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 80072102 France 04/29/2021 07:24 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I used to think the same way but - on the contrary.. It turned out all my problems came from trying to avoid meat and living organisms. Most of the problem is animal fat so you try to eat lean meats. However with the cutting out of a high percentage simple carbs, you lose a ton of weight and fat, and the little animal fat you eat is not so bad anymore in fact necessary. Certain meat is not as good - like I mentioned - that feeds on soy and corn, which is basically almost all meat. But pasture raised or grass fed meat is better. Also by stewing and cooking meats well you can destroy a lot of the lectins and inflammatory proteins. That goes for most foods. But as the diet proclaims, the amount of inflammatory proteins in meat is much less than legumes and grains. As far as berries - they are fruits.. I mentioned them. I used to eat a lot of blueberries since I heard they were anti - inflammatory but the difference was negligible (Actually I didn't notice any change). Only when I went on a strict AIP diet did I get the dramatic difference. |

Cooking breaks down a lot of the proteins that cause the inflammation which include - glutens, lectins and lectin-like proteins like casein. Pressure cooker is even better I hear, but I just avoid them altogether. Another thing to consider with inflammation and food is AGE's (Advanced Glycation End products)which are created when you bake, fry, grill, etc. Basically high or dry heat creates them. They are also naturally high in certain fats like animal fat. [link to www.healthline.com (secure)] |

You throw in a combination of root vegetables and cook them on the burner on very low heat for about 45 minutes. Perfect! I did this not because I was worried about my diet but just because it was so easy and I don't like to go to all the trouble of cooking recipes. |
