And causing citizens to doubt government is the worst thing the GOP ever did, besides Trump.

All the way back to Reagan GOP has been subverting and sabotaging government. Causing people to lose confidence.

It's been a a huge destabilizing force in the West.

Government needs to be proportionate to the size of the problems and the amount of people it serves. And it needs to be good government. Not too controlling and not too lax. It needs to help the citizens flourish. Remove barriers to prosperity. Lay the infrastructure for smooth flow of commerce and quality of life.

I concede that a minimalist government is probably necessary. Good luck keeping the cancer in check, though.
