Moderna isn't one of those gene therapy vaccines that would contain a live virus readily able to shed, and it has been claimed by the CDC that spike protein or RNA from the vaccine doesn't "shed" *significantly*, although coming from them that's not much comfort.

I'd worry more about being around someone who had any of the adenovirus vector vaccines.

It looks like this thread contributed to some impact in some news circles. Unfortunately these news sources in attempting to debunk the concern do not address the above explicit concerns and some utilize logical fallacy, ad hominem and appeal to authority for instance, to sway the reader against the source rather than address salient points presented as honest academics would.

Let me reiterate, a reputable state level health agency of Brazil basically says that they received replication competent live adenovirus gene therapy "self-spreading vaccine" in ALL the lots they received of the Sputnik vaccine, exactly the same brand being distributed widely in Mexico, from where the majority of the migrants are flowing into the USA. Just want to point out that the speculation posited by the OP's link has been confirmed by the above link from the American Association for the Advancement of Science. We indeed do have self-spreading vaccine being distributed worldwide. This link from AAAS commenting on Brazil's health agency, goes against all the conciliatory fact-checking articles denying that any of the vaccines are self-spreading. If just one of the COVID shots is self-spreading, and it's distributed to a population, then we may have a worldwide gene plague on our hands from an out of control adenovirus gene therapy on the loose!
