I have a couple of theories.

1. They grew up when the church, teachers, government was infallible. So they are inherently trusting of authority.

2. They grew up without technology and they could not research facts they could only believe what they were told.

3. They were born and raised when the country was nice. They have no competence or wherewithal on how to combat the shit we have now.
