(OP) User ID: 80171564 Belgium 05/06/2021 09:01 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I've hard a hard life but managed to survive, because there always seemed to be hope for a better tomorrow. Not much success still but hope was enough. Even despite the covid hopelessness and the inevitable fascist takeover and slavery. Quoting: SomeoneSpecific But since my SO passed a few months ago, it's as if something broke in me. I couldn't take care of myself, just enough to survive but now it's as if that bottom has been pulled off and there's no support. It seems like a one way street straight to death. The amount of self neglect that I've been exhibiting is at an all-time low or close, but scarier is that I have no will to live anymore. The thing that made me survive much tougher times. It's like there's nothing standing between me and death. At least I can vent on GLP without getting stupid advice like seeing a psychologist lol. How many people in the world are feeling exactly the same Tuff times You are correct Real hope is important Were praying for ya God be with you Im glad you posted this thread May others be strengthened by it Lol yeah, you're right. This must be universal and selfish of me to think this is more about me than about people in general. |

It hurts bad at first but eventually the pain lessens. The only thing keeping me going is Jesus as I am saved through faith (Romans 10:9). Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78221439 I keep reminding myself that what is happening is for a reason and that the distress will eventually end one day. In the meantime I try to busy myself with various hobbies or work. I try to distract myself in the evening with some good songs or old movies. I'm sorry for your loss. Hope you can get through this alone or with help of your support network. |

If you don't have a particular place you want to read, start on page 1. . DON'T VAX, PROPHYLAX! ____________ There is no anger in Me: If one offers Me thorns and thistles, I will march to battle against him, And set all of them on fire. But if he holds fast to My refuge, He makes Me his friend; He makes Me his friend. (Isaiah 27:4-5) |

Do you have access to a library that can do interlibrary loans (borrow from all other libraries)? You might not want to hear this, but I seriously recommend researching philosophy, the lives of the philosophers, the early church fathers, and there are more but I don't want to overwhelm you. No one is going to understand if you commit suicide, and no one is going to understand if you begin devoting yourself to the history of philosophy while taking notes. The consolation of philosophy might be calling your name. Never mind the idiot contemporaries, the cesspool of popular 'intellectuals' out there... go way back into the past, into the foundations of the essence of your existence. Make philosophy itself a spiritual exercise. I am glad to expound on anything here and add further detail/advice, and yes, I have seen peoples' lives saved by rejecting the modern world and not committing suicide, but turning to a life of the mind. It does not require much money at all; just a place to sleep and basic, minimal food, hopefully growing a bank account even with a low-end job so as to cultivate your own personal library. Hey, Yes I have a roof over my head and bible study is something I'm interested in as a non religious person who found Christ last year (before the death of my SO). The strong possibility that we are in the end times and that all will be good soon is the only thing that still keeps me going. But relying on something that still has a chance of not being true or being the wrong time still bothers me. Living the life of the mind is definitely something that could work to distance oneself from emotions and focus on ideas. Great idea. Thanks for the suggestions so far, you are not overwhelming me so do go on. OP, I apologize for the delay, I somehow lost track of this thread after forgetting the title. Please feel free to send me a message anytime. Really anything regarding what I initially posted or life in general. For all of my joking here, I really do sympathize with what you describe and have personally worked with people in a nearly identical situation. By no means trying to force religion, and honestly it is more of a cultivation of a philosophical life than anything. The idea itself is born out of the same problems you mention having with religion, which I too share. So if I can be of any assistance, do write anytime! |

Please keep a Bullet journal and add about 2 simple chores to do each day that will get you up and out, or accomplish something simple, like organizing one drawer. Also, cut out eating all wheat for a while-- it worsens depression. Get a beautiful picture of mountain scenery you love, and stare at it for a few minutes each day. Delete all negative art and news media from your house. Walk in nature outside for at least 5 minutes and observe the birds and leaves. Ask him to please take away the darkness. In my case, it wasn't a big difference, but big enough to keep me going until things started to improve, which they have slowly. Hang in there OP. The fact that you are here and talking about it shows you have far more strength than you realize. I wonder if this is a more widespread phenomenon which happened to more people. The way it happened definitely did not feel like a coincidence but more like 'when the student is ready, the teacher appears'. Maybe there's an awakening going on that we don't know about yet. Did this happen to you pre-corona hoax or after? |
