I would put a small LIN tank inside that rocket somewhere and open the liquid dump valve when it lands. Mix in a little Halon as well.
That should put a stop to that little fire in a hurry.

This problem would not happen on the moon or Mars, since there's not enough atmosphere or O2 to sustain combustion.
