People like Elijah have a hard time accepting something so Alien to what they have been led to believe. Here’s a quite simple thought experiment.

Good and Evil are but two sides of the whole. So God or The All (whatever term suits best) would naturally encompass both Good/Bad. Therefore the states of being most closely resembling God/The All would be a neutral state, neither high or low, good or bad, just in the middle.

Another thought experiment. Everything is a part of God/The All and when God/The All created duality, there could only be one (simply stated) result; Good/Bad actions would happen and be acceptable. For God/The All to be against either good/bad actions, would be God/The All being against itself. That’s doesn’t happen.

In the end, the only true way for any of us to learn is by direct experience. As it relates to spiritual growth, direct experience is more easily attained while practicing single pointedness of the mind. Be it in a deep classical style meditation, or simply one pointedness while performing normal acts.

Consider this. Think of a very vivid scene, like a park for instance. You have the sounds, smells, feeling, sights, including colors. Now consider describing that scene to another. Your limited to words, and you have to start somewhere. Your words will fall short is describing the scene in its entirety.

When we receive a “knowing” (which may be the closest thing one could consider a “message from God/The All”) its like having that whole scene come at us at once (only, instead the material is of nature that is quite foreign to us in this physicality/duality). The only to “internalize” that knowing is with our thoughts, which no different than using words to describe it. As such, our internalization pales in comparison to the knowing. in addition, the way we internalize that knowing, is based on who we are as a person and our “programming” (for lack of a better word).

The above two paragraphs are why it’s silly to consider any one religion over another. Besides religions being hijacked as a tool for control/manipulation (there is good in religion however), those that created the religion attempted to describe a deep knowing, and could only do so based on what they knew, which is based on what they grew up being taught. As such, there could only be similarities between religions, but nothing would absolutely jive.
