I hope you will forgive me if I seem to talk past you a bit, I would love to offer some comments on this subject but I find it difficult to speak on such things when not done so in reference to specific questions, and I do not really want to "force" the conversation in certain directions when not explicitly wanted... which, I will imminently be guilty of, I think, so my apologies in advance.

There is a lot of discussion about this topic on this forum, so I will try to offer some general comments and maybe they will be interesting. Maybe the first issue at hand is establishing the identity of this "Nobody". This is, after all, a relatively anonymous forum, and anyone can post here. If such a person were to come, what would differentiate them from anyone else on here? Is there any clear sign? There is a lot attributed to "him", various powers and abilities, or specific things that he's done, but there is not a lot that can be conveyed through text that could verify or substantiate such accounts aside from perhaps the espoused philosophy of this individual, and so far as I can tell by the postings on this forum there is no real qualifier that this person could meet that would satisfy the curiosities of the readership here. In the event that there WERE some generally agreed-upon criteria, then I would be very interested to see that... At present though, even if the "Nobody" were to post here, it would be highly improbable for it to be received as such by the usership. Thus, he would still be a [lowercase] "nobody" in the end practically speaking, ironically enough.

As such, in respect to your question, I cannot offer any comments as "the Nobody" even if I wanted to (were I him) but only as myself, the same as anyone else. What is the idea behind this person then? One that has some kind of an intimate or deep relationship with "God" or "the One" such as in the Neoplatonic conception, an individual of deep and penetrating insights into existential matters of being and spirituality. How can this be? What does that even mean?

In order to come to an understanding of this, it is my opinion that some corrections are needed in respect to the general Western view of spirituality, this being founded in Christianity. Please do not misunderstand; I do think there is some wisdom in the Bible, but there are some rather significant problems with the kind of theological 'world' it presents us with especially in respect to the nature of "God" and our relation to it. This may bleed over into our thought even if we are not ourselves Christians, since that is the implied foundation of such 'Western thought' generally speaking. If you are a Christian and I have not offended you already, then I very likely will with what else I have to say next so you may wish to stop reading at this time. In effect, the Bible confuses the issue rather than clarifies it, but I will elaborate. Namely, the issues are twofold: 1) The idea of the infinite, loving creator being that most are probably attracted to Christianity through in the first place, is conflated with the petty, vengeful, warlike 'god' of the Old Testament. If we were to think on it, we would find the two irreconcilable quite quickly unless we are to illogically suppose that something can be both "hot" and "cold" at the same time, metaphorically speaking. I am aware that this is reconciled in the New Testament through the idea of the changing from the "old covenant" to the "new covenant", but even then there is another issue with the presentation. That issue is that: 2) The idea of Jesus Christ, or "God incarnate as man", still leaves you basically separated from God in any real fashion, for even as he says, "No one comes to the Father except through me." You need "God as man" to get to "God"?? In a strange way this is not so different from how, in the relatively recent past, the Catholic church would serve as your intermediary with God, only here the person that is God himself says you need him as an intermediary for himself. What a pretzel knot of conceptions we're in.

Maybe I am being overly-critical; I am aware that the idea of Jesus Christ can be very instructive for the individual that is seeking to know God. It is merely my intent that, if these understandings are already known, that we might attempt to come into a fuller understanding of the true nature of this being.

What is the nature of this being? In my understanding, it is the "Infinite Creator", a grand and magnificent being that is everywhere and in everything. Both potter and clay, it is the creator and the created, the creator IN the creation we might say and not just "outside" of it as we might otherwise think. The idea that I want to impress upon the reader is that you, too, are this being, grand and magnificent and infinitely worthy. Indeed, when it comes to the mystics of the past, in their meditations on the subject they too would, after many long hours perhaps, come to the spontaneous realization of the unity between themselves and this being. The two, seemingly separate, are in fact one, the appearance of separation being merely a product of our present experiences. Even in the Christian view however we do have something of a confirmation of this idea, such as when in Genesis 1:27 we are told of the creation of humanity, "So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them." Indeed, if man is the image, the microcosm of God, then what is the "macrocosm" of man? What else could it be but God, the "infinite"?

Maybe I am getting far afield here. You were asking about the "Autogenes", or like the "self-generating". While I am not intimately familiar with this term, we could suppose that it implies like the self-initiating nature of this character, the "Nobody". He created himself perhaps, like the Creator did as implied by the term, but don't we all in a certain sense?
