The issue isn't concern for the environment. It's geological. We are running up against the limits on what can be extracted, and sold for a profit at market. Investors have already vacated the unconventional fossil fuel extraction market. Except for the ones who haven't decided they've lost enough money yet. Conventional extraction has been in decline for over a decade. Do the math. If the supply can't be profitably offered, it won't be, and demand HAS to decline. Otherwise our monetary based, capitalistic economy can't function.

All the electronic whizbangs people are promoting in an attempt to continue the perpetual growth, consumption and throw away lifestyle require COPPER. Check the supply/demand/price charts on copper over the last 10yrs. It's a global situation, not isolated to the US. I think then general population is about to be a LOT less mobile, and will probably spend a LOT more time growing food. The WTO and attendees of Davos have already decided that limiting supply to the general population is the best way to ensure supply to the international bankers and their kin for as long as possible.

The idea was generally accepted as inevitable in the late 90s to early 2000s. The next stretch of time was spent setting up the circumstances necessary, and positioning themselves to profit off the "transition". As well as setting a timeline for anticipated progress.

The plan is moving along nicely. Covid was the first idea to limit demand, and it worked. People voluntarily limited demand without much static at all. Can't keep it up too long or the narrative will be discovered mainstream, and the gig will be up. On to the next one. Pipeline down. I don't know the plans, but when they happen it's obvious what's going on.

"Fuel for me and mine, not for you and yours"

Not out of spite. There's just not enough left to go around. They shared until they noticed the geological restraints signaling the inevitable.
