5 star post OP,
Another thing that contributes is generally with current conditions it takes both spouses to work just to keep up. This is the state of affairs in Canada and maybe everywhere else as well. Taxes and high cost of living are designed to keep you like a hamster running on a wheel. Given a choice I am very sure a majority of both men and women would choose to have a stay at home mom. Good for you and your family you have made the sacrifices and adjustments to make it possible. 100% agree this will make for great society and no matter what happens your kids will grow up to make you proud and you will be a happy family.

My mother was a drunk stay at home mom. She did nothing but abuse and lie and neglect her four children. So wholesome!

Re: I’ll Probably Get A Lot Of Backlash For Saying This, BUT WHEN WOMEN STARTED WORKING OUTSIDE THE HOME, Society Started To FALL APART!
Women entering the workforce en masse was one of the greatest steps forward for equity we have seen in the Western World.

Except immediately this provided a second, sustainable, income for the average family. This then made it easier for producers to "creep" prices gradually upward. Whereas in the 1950's the price of milk would be pegged to a single income, in the 1970s-1980s that same milk could now be pegged to 2 incomes, allowing for greater profits for producers of whatever consumer items were most popular.

The steadily increasing inflation then created the situation where dual incomes were essentially mandatory for the average family. This necessity then led to "latch key kids" (I was one of those) who came home from school to empty houses without supervision, because mom and dad were still at work.

From here came the gradual normalization of TV baby sitters. Fast food and cheap boxed food popularity rose exponentially in sales as they provided a quick solution to over worked parents.

The lack of supervision, well rounded nutrition, and the influence of consumerist media slowly degraded the nuclear family to the absolute shit show we see it as today.

So while women in the workforce was an awesome step forward in social advancement, the 1980's coke sniffing influencer's ideas of "Greed is good" (made popular in the movie Wall Street) permeated deeply into the social consciousness - on purpose for proft. This was also fueled by the CIA dripping cocaine into as many markets as possible. It's all come together in 2021 as we see with blue haired fuckin kids running around cities like Portland thinking they are kings of social justice while in reality they are simply the unwitting tools of billionaires.

That's not true. If women had jobs, they worked in the home so they could also look after the kids. They did NOT go out to work when they had small children unless they were widows or had no other means of support. Jobs outside the home, where there were small children, WERE THE EXCEPTION. The fiat money system is why women were pushed into the workforce. Same is true of illegal immigration today. Fiat money always collapses. Forcing more people into the workforce extends the life of the system for a few decades.

Why, just this morning I thought to myself, If I gave up my childless, active social/business life, my multimillion dollar home which I bought with my own goddamn money, my bought and paid for car which I again bought with my own money and without a man's help, and just become a dutiful little meek housewife and pop out babies constantly and submit to my husband, I'd be WAY happier.

Marriage and parenthood are not for everyone. Most people shouldn’t have children. They are too immature and selfish to raise them correctly. Many shouldn’t even get married. It take two mature people to make that work. And most people are children walking around in adult bodies.

The very best thing that could happen to our society is the DEATH OF FEMINISM (I say this AS a woman) and for women to LEAVE THE WORKPLACES AND GO HOME. If you have children, your place is at HOME taking care of and EDUCATING them in various ways, taking care of sick or elderly relatives and building a neighborhood. That is the role of women. AND IT WORKS.

If those are the things that matter to you, then keep doing them. Don't have kids though and expect to be able to live like that. You're just living for yourself and not for others or for a larger community or for your country or civilization. That's your choice. But you don't contribute anything of value to anybody but yourself.

It's probably better that you don't marry or have kids because we don't need more failures in the world. Having money does not equal success.

And now look where we have ended up huffy

Women are terribly unhappy today. You hear it from the wives filing for divorce, from the schoolgirls, from the offices where they bicker all day with their female coworkers.
Unhappiness brings mental illness, suicide, self destructive behaviors, eating disorders, depression, illness and death.

Men have no jobs. This is the whole problem... don't blame women.

On farms men always had a job.

Women attend college in greater numbers than men now. Men are persona non grata at college. Women took millions of jobs men used to take. Illegals take many construction jobs men used to take.
Men are discouraged, have low expectations and are degenerating into infantilism.

I’ll Probably Get A Lot Of Backlash For Saying This, BUT WHEN WOMEN STARTED WORKING OUTSIDE THE HOME, Society Started To FALL APART!
And now all hell is breaking loose it appears.

This isn’t an indictment against women, as I am a woman myself (see avatar) but after contemplating this subject, I think what I’m saying has a lot of validity.

You can agree or disagree.

These are just my thoughts on the matter.

Since the 1970’s, there has been an acceleration towards society’s decline

Since the 1970’s:

1) abortion was legalized (1973)
2) the feminist movement :” In 1971, feminist Gloria Steinem joined Betty Friedan and Bella Abzug in founding the National Women’s Political Caucus“
3) in the 70’s there was a push to get women working outside the home. This was pushed in the media via television shows such as “ The Mary TylerMoore Show” (1970-77) “ one Day At A Time” (1975-1984)
“ Alice” (1976-1985”,”Maude” (1972-78) and on and on.
4) Ms. Magazine was founded in 1972.
5) Divorce was made more acceptable in the 1970’s. No fault divorce came into effect in 1970.
6) Daycare for children started to become popular due to more women working outside the home
7) the use of ADHD drugs such as Ritalin became popular in the 1970’s and onward.
8) Explosion iof sexually transmitted diseases ( started in the late 60’s)
9) Pornography....we know how has exploded

There is definitely a correlation between the traditional family structure breaking down and society breaking down which has resulted in divorce, ADHD chiidren’s behavior, a growing disrespect between the sexes: women against men, and men against women.

While I am not saying that the “ Ozzie And Harriet” lifestyle is the one everyone should be living, as that was a manufactured Hollywood illusion anyway, what I am saying is that all these factors have contributed to a breakdown in society.

If you have women working outside the home, who’s watching the children?

SOMEBODY ELSE.

And our out of control children are a RESULT of the neglect we see in society today.

-Women who don’t know how to act like women...ie snowflakes, who DEMAND their rights but get no respect, tattoos, shaving their hair, sexually irresponsible etc.

-Men who turn to the homosexual lifestyle because they don’t have good male role models due to divorce
-men rejecting their role as providers ...lonely men who only find satisfaction in temporary sexual encounters but only crave more and more

All because Mom (and dad) are not there to instill his/his values into their children.
If mom is working a full time job too, BOTH parents are exhausted, so it be comes a tug of war between who does the chores, giving children supervision, baths, putting dinner on the table etc.etc. Etc. which leads to fighting, lack of sex, frustration

Which’s leads to a disordered home and eventually a broken home, divorce, unhappy children, unhappy parents. Unhappy society.

Personally, I know when I gave up a lucrative career in the fashion industry, over time I have seen the positive result of my choosing to become a stay at home mother. And a support to my husband.

I enjoy making him tasty meals that he likes and makes me feel appreciated when he likes them, for example.

Simple enough right? So simple we tend to dismiss these traditional things.

Having a clean well ordered home..who has the energy and time to have this when you are working a full time job outside the home?

Well fed disciplined children who understand right from wrong.

Yes, initially, we had to downsize. And sacrifice some of the extras we were enjoying.
But now my family is ABUNDANTLY blessed with more than we want or need. You make adjustments. And it works.

Who needs a McMansion and chasing after all the goodies when you PEACE and contentment?

I am happier than I have ever been. God has blessed my husband career more than ever and I am seeing the fruit of our discipline and sacrifice...

Hubby is blessed and feels respected because of his providing for the family.
I am not saying I am the poster child for domestic bliss, or that I am “all that”, because my hubby and I have had to work out and thru our differences. This takes time.

But in perspective, it has been time well invested and I wouldn’t want it any other way.
Basically, what I am saying is it can be done and if enough catch on to “going back to basics” we might see a lot happier, well adjusted people who contribute to society rather than tear it down.

And lest anyone thinks I am knocking my own sex, this thread is not addressed towards single women or divorced women, who, due to circumstances, have to work because the ex can’t or won’t pay child support and because they need to put food on the table...

No, this is addressed towards those who think chasing the almighty dollar is where it’s at...because it’s not...it only brings heartache when your career is your only friend, and you allow someone else to raise your own flesh and blood.

It’s heartache to you, and to your offspring. And to society.
 Quoting: Very Interesting

Ive been saying this for 25 years. I am late 40s now. As a man who had to raise two kids on his own because the mother put all of her needs and wants before them, I am more than entitled to say so.

Women's liberation has been possibly, if not definitely, the biggest cause of divorce rates and infidelity, broken homes, neglected and misguided children, culture of sexual decadence and overall breakdown of social morals over the past 70 years.

Men are blamed for everything. Women are unaccountable. I have never met one woman who has ever said she was to blame for her broken marriages or relationships. Never once.

There was a study released some time in the past 7-10 years in which women who wanted to be the breadwinners in their marriages and families and were also almost unnamimously said they saw their husbands as pathetic and inferior, and often committed adultery on them.

Talk about lose-lose for the modern man/father.

Women need to start becoming accountable for their equal or predominant contribution to the breakdown of society and family strength, or nothing will ever get better.

I say these things knowing it doesn't matter now anyway. It was all part of the plan to destroy families prior to depopulation and permanent sterilization.
If it isn't in The Bible then it is just conspiracy theory.

I remember this well too. My own mother was illegitimate (her father died before she was born & before they could marry). It was a source of very real shame and pain to her all her life. THAT IS HOW IT SHOULD BE. I'm sorry for what she went through but shame keeps people in line and helps them to do the right thing as a group. We cannot be too compassionate as that is actually destructive of society and is used against us.
