Re: I’ll Probably Get A Lot Of Backlash For Saying This, BUT WHEN WOMEN STARTED WORKING OUTSIDE THE HOME, Society Started To FALL APART!
It's funny how since the generations born since the end of World War II want to change anything that's been the tried and true formula in society for thousands of years.

Starting with the biggest feminist lie of all which is that one woman can do everything- that a woman can have a successful career and raise a happy successful family. Some women can, but not everyone can handle the burden. They either end up doing a mediocre job, or they raised mediocre children. Kids that have been dumped in daycare since they were two months old aren't being raised by their parents. They're being raised by the daycare.

I've had good bosses of both genders. But all of the absolutely terrible, completely unreasonable just batty bosses I've had, have been women. So what do we have now? Look at the world leaders: Pelosi, Harris, Maxine, Merkel.... A leaking canoe full of bad bosses!

Yeah like the song says,, "where have all the cowboys gone? Turning into a bunch of baristas with hair buns I guess.

I'm a woman by the way. Older than dirt. I worked before my daughter was born, I stayed home until she was in high school.
 Quoting: Joaquina

Who started that lie? Seems like it gets repeated alot and I never heard it in my lifetime until now. I'm older too.
 Quoting: Agent 99

If you if you just search on, "the myth of having it all" there is criticism of that idea even in the liberal press these days. I started hearing it coming of age in the early 70s.

In some ways it's encouraging. The idea, "okay girl you can have that career and you can raise a family. You can do it!"
It's more like "some" can do it.

I really am a dinosaur. I shake my head when I hear things about active duty women in military being deployed away from home for a year. Yes, someone can care for her children, but she's the one that brought them into the world and she's not doing it. She's thousands of miles away soldiering. If she's not there she's not doing the job of raising her children.

Well divorce started to become ordinary and single women had to live in a home and usually had at least one child to support. Men and women stopped trying with one another and putting the hard work into family when things became not so easy and kids experienced the worst of it and here we are now. This goes back to the 50's.

Re: I’ll Probably Get A Lot Of Backlash For Saying This, BUT WHEN WOMEN STARTED WORKING OUTSIDE THE HOME, Society Started To FALL APART!
Man. It’s even worse than that. The vast majority of younger women want sugar daddies and have no useful skills. So if they stay home
One day they are even less useful.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80361154

Sugar daddies is one thing.

If that is all a woman wants, good luck with that. That is a selfish mindset and will catch up with them one way or another if they get married.

But the husband as the provider is a good thing. It establishes a proper order in the home. It calls for sacrifice on both the husband and the wife. But it works.

It’s actually a win win. If the husband is trying to meet his wife’s needs and the wife is trying to meet her husband’s needs, it works.

Because both are giving of themselves.

But ya gotta try and not give up.

If all you think about is your own selfish wants and desires, how does that reflect upon your mate?

Eventually your partner will not respond to you like you desire them to.

A husband who shows love and consideration gets good sex in return.

A wife who shows love and respect for her husband and what he does for her gets love and attention in return.

 Quoting: Very Interesting

I'm weird in that I am a very cynical and jaded person on one hand, yet I think that people should have common sense and goals that go along with common sense and nature. Marriage and parenthood is not meant for some people and women should not have to have that as their only option for survival. However, if you choose to have children I think you should intend to give them the optimum situation- a father and mother committed to each other and to them in a traditional situation- and as a society we should value that and try to shape policies to make it usual and more easy to accomplish.

As far as single women in the military- I see nothing wrong with it in supporting roles- just not combat. It is a VERY, VERY rare woman who could handle that. From the way we are built, to our monthly cycles, to the fact that rape while captured can make us pregnant, the biological protective instinct many males have toward females that could affect the male soldiers, etc., etc., etc., etc. makes us poor candidates for combat.

I'm female & I agree. I remember when "Women's Lib" really took off in the 1970s. Latch-key kids. Is3v12: "As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths."

Let's face it; women were living on easy street. Categorised with children, i.e. 'Women and Children', for good reason, they were sheltered, nurtured and kept away from the harsher realities of life. It was in men's nature to protect them from harm.
Thanks to the lies of Feminism, their lives are harder, less rewarding, less productive, and less happy. Men are unlikely to protect them from harm, because sexism. They're really kind of on their own now.

Think about how a typical feminist, sitting on her fat, hairy, malodorous butt, occasionally contributing articles for online media sites, will encourage young girls to take up machine coding, if you will. 'Go do a job that is hard, socially isolating, requires endless training and patience for often virtually no reward, while I sit here drinking tea getting paid money for old rope. It'll make ME feel better' ..Fucking gross.

Whatever... it should have been equal rights, equal responsiblity. Instead women tried to be as messed up as the men. Doing all the bad stuff that the bad men were doing. The men also didn't do equal resposiblity in the home...

So, you can blame it on the coincidence of timing with being in the work place if you want, or you can call it what it is... both sides did not change for the better...

One side stayed the same, and the other followed their example...

Give your kids equal cleaning chores, equal repair, and mantenance chores, equal financal education... all of it.

This isn’t an indictment against women, as I am a woman myself (see avatar) but after contemplating this subject, I think what I’m saying has a lot of validity.

You can agree or disagree.

These are just my thoughts on the matter.

Since the 1970’s, there has been an acceleration towards society’s decline

Since the 1970’s:

1) abortion was legalized (1973)
2) the feminist movement :” In 1971, feminist Gloria Steinem joined Betty Friedan and Bella Abzug in founding the National Women’s Political Caucus“
3) in the 70’s there was a push to get women working outside the home. This was pushed in the media via television shows such as “ The Mary TylerMoore Show” (1970-77) “ one Day At A Time” (1975-1984)
“ Alice” (1976-1985”,”Maude” (1972-78) and on and on.
4) Ms. Magazine was founded in 1972.
5) Divorce was made more acceptable in the 1970’s. No fault divorce came into effect in 1970.
6) Daycare for children started to become popular due to more women working outside the home
7) the use of ADHD drugs such as Ritalin became popular in the 1970’s and onward.
8) Explosion iof sexually transmitted diseases ( started in the late 60’s)
9) Pornography....we know how has exploded

There is definitely a correlation between the traditional family structure breaking down and society breaking down which has resulted in divorce, ADHD chiidren’s behavior, a growing disrespect between the sexes: women against men, and men against women.

While I am not saying that the “ Ozzie And Harriet” lifestyle is the one everyone should be living, as that was a manufactured Hollywood illusion anyway, what I am saying is that all these factors have contributed to a breakdown in society.

If you have women working outside the home, who’s watching the children?

SOMEBODY ELSE.

And our out of control children are a RESULT of the neglect we see in society today.

-Women who don’t know how to act like women...ie snowflakes, who DEMAND their rights but get no respect, tattoos, shaving their hair, sexually irresponsible etc.

-Men who turn to the homosexual lifestyle because they don’t have good male role models due to divorce
-men rejecting their role as providers ...lonely men who only find satisfaction in temporary sexual encounters but only crave more and more

All because Mom (and dad) are not there to instill his/his values into their children.
If mom is working a full time job too, BOTH parents are exhausted, so it be comes a tug of war between who does the chores, giving children supervision, baths, putting dinner on the table etc.etc. Etc. which leads to fighting, lack of sex, frustration

Which’s leads to a disordered home and eventually a broken home, divorce, unhappy children, unhappy parents. Unhappy society.

Personally, I know when I gave up a lucrative career in the fashion industry, over time I have seen the positive result of my choosing to become a stay at home mother. And a support to my husband.

I enjoy making him tasty meals that he likes and makes me feel appreciated when he likes them, for example.

Simple enough right? So simple we tend to dismiss these traditional things.

Having a clean well ordered home..who has the energy and time to have this when you are working a full time job outside the home?

Well fed disciplined children who understand right from wrong.

Yes, initially, we had to downsize. And sacrifice some of the extras we were enjoying.
But now my family is ABUNDANTLY blessed with more than we want or need. You make adjustments. And it works.

Who needs a McMansion and chasing after all the goodies when you have PEACE and contentment?

I am happier than I have ever been. God has blessed my husband career more than ever and I am seeing the fruit of our discipline and sacrifice...

Hubby is blessed and feels respected because of his providing for the family.
I am not saying I am the poster child for domestic bliss, or that I am “all that”, because my hubby and I have had to work out and thru our differences. This takes time.

But in perspective, it has been time well invested and I wouldn’t want it any other way.
Basically, what I am saying is it can be done and if enough catch on to “going back to basics” we might see a lot happier, well adjusted people who contribute to society rather than tear it down.

And lest anyone thinks I am knocking my own sex, this thread is not addressed towards single women or divorced women, who, due to circumstances, have to work because the ex can’t or won’t pay child support and because they need to put food on the table...

No, this is addressed towards those who think chasing the almighty dollar is where it’s at...because it’s not...it only brings heartache when your career is your only friend, and you allow someone else to raise your own flesh and blood.

It’s heartache to you, and to your offspring. And to society.

Women came into the work force because cost of living and taxes became too much for a single earner household. IT'S THE FIAT US Dollar USD and income taxes!!!

And now all hell is breaking loose it appears.

Re: I’ll Probably Get A Lot Of Backlash For Saying This, BUT WHEN WOMEN STARTED WORKING OUTSIDE THE HOME, Society Started To FALL APART!
Whatever... it should have been equal rights, equal responsiblity.

Give your kids equal cleaning chores, equal repair, and mantenance chores, equal financal education... all of it.
