I think some of the events in news reports didn't actually happen.

Not just lies or exaggerations, but entire events fabricated.
Say for instance they report on a bombing somewhere overseas. We just take their word for it. It's not like any of us are going to fly over there and verify the report. I think they know that, so they fabricate events to keep us in a constant state of fear.
