Is the supply tainted? How do you know you are not getting vaxed blood? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 56516721 You don't. When you come in to the ER unconscious, they can't ask you whether you prefer vaxxed or unvaxxed blood, and they wouldn't ask even if they could. Quoting: Revbo™ The first thing they ask you, now, after your name and date of birth, is your gender. Y’all don’t know what I look like but I’m a shaved-head bald dude with a full beard so it’s pretty obvious. I was so confused at first I had to ask the lady to repeat the question. Thought I had misheard her. I wanted to make a smartass remark but I know the poor ground-level employees are made to ask this by their social justice warrior masters at headquarters. They also ask you your name and DOB repeatedly throughout the process. I think I was asked six times in the space of an hour. No idea what that’s about. I guess it’s a security procedure, but I don’t know how it improves security. The most troubling part, though, was for the first time since I started donating blood in the early 90s as a teenager, I did not fill the bag. My blood coagulated too fast and they had to pull the needle and give up after about half an hour. The nurse said that’s normal but it’s not normal for me, and with all this talk about vaccine-related blood clots and spike protein shedding from the vaccinated (I’m unvaxxed for Covid. Haven’t even had a flu shot in 12 years), I got really concerned and have started a baby aspirin regimen just in case. Revbo, may I suggest being tested for hereditary hemochromotosis? It's another "silent killer" that typically goes untested until the symptoms are no longer silent and difficult to treat. It's also the most common genetic disease in Caucasions with a 24% higher prevalence in males. Called iron overload disease or iron accumulation disease, the body cannot properly metabolize or rid itself of iron, and eventually the blood becomes thick, and iron is deposited in places it should not be deposited. Most doctors do not run full iron/ferritin panels for early indications or prompting for genetic testing. The only reason I was properly tested is due to an alert biochem-based MD who was afraid I had cancer and referred me to a Hemotologist Oncologist for proper testing and eval. I decided to test for the genes, and I have both (and from both parents). My treatment is to up my blood donations or, alternatively, straight blood draws if iron/ferritin count (and other markers) gets too high and donation centers reject the blood. The symptoms of the condition get worse with age due to the iron accumulation over time. This is a credible info source for the condition: [link to www.aafp.org (secure)] Cheers! . Anonymous Coward User ID: 30489486 United States 05/14/2021 01:32 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Did they try to adjust the needle? Years ago I had difficulty filling the bag. I think the bevel of the needle was resting against the wall of my vein. They readjusted and it got a little bit better, but I think it was just a bad location on that particular vein. Did they actually say the blood was coagulating? I thought they put an anti-coagulant solution in the bag to prevent that from happening...unless you mean it was coagulating one the line leading to the blood bag? It never hurts to take baby Aspirin, but don’t stress. You may find that your next appointment to donate goes much smoother. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80254754 Yeah, the male nurse who stuck me was new and not very good at his job. Really nice guy, but he missed the vein when he first put the needle in, despite marking it first with a purple marker, and had to adjust it several times, so it may be as simple as that, but the female nurse who came in to save the day did say my blood was coagulating at the injection site which is why I didn't think that it was just a case of an inexperienced nurse. Now that you mention it, though, she may have just been saying that to not make the male nurse look incompetent. Venipuncture is an art form. and coagulating at the site of injection means your body is doing what its supposed to. Its healing an intrusion site. But thats my non medical unprofessional opinion and as always if concerned follow it up with a doctor. One of my 1st attempts at drawing blood was on a black gentleman in a yellow linen shirt going to a summer party after his .mil physical. I was so nervous about collecting 5 vials of blood that I shot right thru his vein and pulled the needle back out spraying bright red blood all over his beautiful shirt. I will never forget that and still laugh painfully about it today. Its not something just anyone can do. I never pursued the medical field after my time in and it wasn't because of blood. It was because of crap like covid and all the mad people I met in the field who want to control everything. Thanks for sharing. This blood clotting issue should have everyone sitting up and paying attention whether vaxxed or not. |

Since I am O-neg, the universal donor, a nearby hospital City of Hope medical Center, needs me a lot and i am there most prolific donor so I'm told. also, I live a very boring life given the form you fill out each time. Anyway, I had one donation about 2 years ago in which my vein collapsed and it stopped the donation and did not fill the bag. Boy that really stings when that happens as well. Anyway, no problems since. Also, my wife is vaccinated and I had no problem donating on May 5th the usually double dose of platelets. All this to say, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Anyway, I donated last Wednesday. I mentioned that I didn't get the vaxx, because they ask on the Rapid Test if you have been vaccinated. Quoting: The Starbuckian A black girl did the draw. She said she was new. She jabbed the needle through the vein, all the way through the other side of it. In my many years of donating blood and donating plasma, this has never happened. The girl said this happens from time to time. I told her she was careless. And I was adamant about it, because this has never happened before. Both her and the supervisor were mad at me for saying the girl was careless. It felt like the intent of the jab was racially motivated, especially by her lack of experience. After the draw, as I was on my way out of the building, I asked if the staff there had been vaccinated. The supervisor informed me that they all had been vaxxed. I've noticed that here seems to be an indignant superiority attitude among those who have gotten the vaccine jab. I don't feel a kinship with them, because of this attitude, nor apparently do they. They probably didn’t like you because you didn’t get the shot and she stabbed you. Even subconsciously this can happen. Don’t go back. |
