Israel's military is bush league at best. If you gave the Palestinians the same weapons they would take over the capitol in a day.

I think the Israeli military is world class. They're right up there with South Korea, Germany, France, and others.

Operationally they are very good. And operations is really the secret ingredient to a successful military endeavor. Everybody hears about tactics and strategy, but operations are where battles are won and lost.

Simply put operations is compromised of the execution of putting parts into play in a theater. It involves positioning of forces and logistics.

If you have good operations your well informed, well deployed,, well supplied and well supported tank battalion can smash the enemy's tank brigade because his tanks didn't know where all your forces were, was low on fuel, was caught in a poor position, and or had no artillery support.

They got their butt kicked in the 2006 Lebanon war. Total embarassment. Generals had to resign. Lots of infighting and finger pointing.

It's very easy to bomb the Gaza prison camp and look like a tough guy. When they know they won't face any serious resistance.

Hezbollah on the other hand is very capable of forcing them in to a hasty retreat.

No, Israel’s military is very good. But a wise man will notice that there is never a solution allowed to this problem. Peace deals are never greenlit, but neither is actual victory by the vastly superior Israeli side. It’s almost like some people behind the scenes benefit from a never ending state of war...
