Nevertheless, unlike what some preachers say, God is not sadistic. There is NO ETERNAL PAIN in the Bible. But there are 'ETERNAL PUNISHMENT' and 'ETERNAL FIRE'...along with ETERNAL LIFE, on the other hand.

The 'eternal punishment' is the Second Death, the definitive disappearance of the soul. The 'eternal fire' is the means to the Second Death, the nuclear fire.
