now that we have realized it.. we have a responsibility (IMO) to those in our past we have taught.. without realizing it was a lie... so that they hopefully do not carry it on down the generations...

i'm doing this right now, with each of my sons. and finding out, (which surprised me) that they are taking the realization a LOT easier than i did at first.
