No one has ever seen a perfect circle, nor a perfectly straight line, yet everyone knows what a circle and a straight line are. Perceived circles or lines are not exactly circular or straight, and true circles and lines could never be detected since by definition they are sets of infinitely small points. |

No CGI involved and no space mice were harmed during this flight. Pretty soon now that it has officially flown into space, it will be available for tourist flights. 1) that's not space, it's low earth orbit, high altitude. 2) it only shows selective shots that are curved, if you watch the entire video there are shots of a clear flat horizon, obviously it's a camera angle issue 3) no civilians will ever go to actual space, they will only go high altitude 4) wake me up when someone actually goes to space and I can see cell phone footage of earth shrinking as they move away from it |

I says to myself, ok, let’s see this proof.... Lol... This SCHLEP said PROOF! HAHAHAHA!!! You said curvature, but cannot recognize the fact a fish eye lens is causing the distortion(curvature) Or That if that was the curvature, he can not recognize how wrong the size of the continents are below him. That alone shows the ‘starship’ is actually much lower than claimed. You space fanbois will believe any’thing!! Lol..... |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 51013017 have you ever looked into camera optics? they make special lenses that do not curve the image. Here's why you are wrong: A fisheye lens bends light meaning there cannot be any straight lines visible in the video and yet they are all over the place. The only answer is that it is not a fish eyed lens but is a standard video camera or a go-pro. |

No, the point is a fish eye lens is calibrated so the center of the image is straight and the edges can not be. That's why there is a curve. |

This is repeated in several different directions therefore no fish eyed lens was used since Fish Eyed lens always curve the image they capture. |

User ID: 80193276 United States 05/22/2021 10:05 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The real and easiest proof is in the time it takes a Vendee Globe sail boat to circumnavigate Antarctica. If the flat Earther map was true, the journey would take around 6 months I think. But they do it in around 20 days. Typing the times by memory, but the point is, the sailboats have a well understood speed and making the much longer journey of a flat Earth map, in the times they post would be impossible. But it doesn't matter how much proof you show them. They just shove their fingers in their ears and go La La La. :) Last Edited by JustmeTX on 05/22/2021 10:07 PM Justme |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 78089145 United States 05/22/2021 10:06 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The Earth is obviously a sphere but to be fair, I've run ths simulations/animations and you would need to be about 100+ miles above the surface to even perceive a curve at all. Try it for yourself sometime. Anyone that thinks they can see it from high altitude is just being fooled by 3-point perpective. At the outside edges of the periphery the orthagonal lines get blown out like a fisheye lens even with the naked eye. Lines below and above the horizon appear to curve away from it, most notably outside our foveated cone of vision. |
