we've had multiple media-driven viral outbreaks in the recent past; avian, swine, ebola, and i'm sure other's i've forgotten.

none of those took hold like this one though.

Because the others were used as conditioning and the narratives of needing shots to protect a virus... they have to build a lie from the ground up (decades long) to seem believable for the main show being played out right now..
