Well, we have no idea. Given the dysfunction of that family it is possible one of them injured Cash. It might even had been totally accidentally but they wouldn't bring the boy to the hospital anyway because they were not even supposed to be there and probably had been molested.

. KM mentioned Cash like to play "superheroes" and he always wanted to be Iron man, and that indicated that possibly roughhousing went on. I can see a teenager accidentally hurting a kid, and that bunch panicking and cooking up this kidnapping and stabbing to cover it up.

We may never know what really happened, but I bet we find out Brown didn't do it because the FBI will eliminate him as a possible suspect'
