The shelter will cost $63 million over nine years, or $50,000 per person, according to the West 58th Street Coalition, which is campaigning against the shelter. ... The shelter is part of Mayor Bill de Blasio's 'Turning the Tide' plan to create 90 homeless shelters across the city. ---
1 shelter over 9 years = $63,000,000.
$63,000,000 x 90 = $5.67 BILLION for housing 140 x 90 = 12,600 people over 9 years. What a utter waste of funds.
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 20371885 Either that says the economy will tank and they will need a lot of shelters. Or people are just choosing homelessness because of all the perks.
