Have notice that these folks have been selling in the last two years and moving elsewhere. Often to utah and other similar states. The rest have gone to the hamptons or the hudson valley permanently.

They're not coming back so they really don't care.

If they sold and moved then someone bought the property and moved in.

Schadenfreude.

The billionaires fought against the homeless shelter, 'not in my backyard', and lost. The shelter will happen. LOL LOL LOL LOL.

NYC's Billionaire's Row gets new neighbors: De Blasio plans to build a homeless shelter in elite Manhattan neighborhood near luxury Plaza Hotel is given the green light after court dismisses protest lawsuit by residents and business
- The homeless shelter will be created inside the former Park Savoy Hotel in New York city's Billionaire's Row
- The area includes the most expensive home in the United States - a $238 million penthouse sold in 2019 - and the tallest residential building in the world
- Famous faces such as Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez, Sting and Trudi Styler have all bought property along the streets

AhahahaHA!
Thank you D.C.
Great find!

I bet all those Mole People who live under NYC have had decades of hate built up and know secrets.

I think the elite want to lure them out.
They are not that dumb.

The Mole People just might end up saving us all.

That’s true. They say they want to help the disadvantaged. They just don’t want to see them or have them in their neighborhoods.

Is there a homeless waiting list?
 Quoting: pool

Guaranteed. There will be panhandlers living in that shelter making more money than half of Americans. They'll likely have social workers on staff teaching them how to get all the benefits, too. It'll be like a free luxury hotel right on Central Park.

Cool! I may have to reevaluate my dream to retire at The Villages.

Do they have swinger parties at the homeless shelter?

Good, now bring back the mental institutions for those homeless that need help, build them right inside those homeless hotels. Give 'em the top floor. I'm serious. And add an addiction clinic as well.

We have a lot of mentally ill people that have no where to go and no where to get help so I'm all for bringing back the institutions providing they are humanely run (not like the old ones where they literally tortured and murdered people).

Don't stop at the homeless shelters; those don't take care of the mental health and addiction issues that contribute to a lot of homeless people; bring back the mental institutions and addiction centers. Would cost society less in the long wrong and help "some" people at the same time.

Have them work in a community garden, community this and that, put them to work and give them some dignity not just free housing, food, vet care, etc., give them JOBS to do, something to do so that they are contributing to society. How about in exchange for their free homeless benefits they clean up the streets and parks.

Rant off.

I still don’t understand why people pay so much money to basically live on a street that smells like shit 24/7?
 Quoting: Ughhhhh 75404769

I know, I looked at the street view of this nicest neighborhood in NYC and it just looks disgusting to me.

Dirty streets and buildings all crammed together, really ugly scenery. Institutional, grey and morose looking.

I've lived all over the country and have always preferred a more spacious, clean, natural landscape.

Anyways, hope they enjoy their new mentally ill substance abusers!

Tent City? Good Idea.

Central Park has lots of rooms for tents, and its just a block away from the shelter.

there are no institutions left, most have even been literally demolished and some were incredibly planned and organized with communities, those capable w/their own little cottages like group homes, they had their recreation centres ,small farms, independent power plants etc etc
and due to the usual azzzzholes in charge,THE PLAN WAS for neighborhood inclusion complete with SUPERVISION which never materialized-leaving the vulnerable as easy picking for abuse & exploitation.
Someone should retrace these steps and find out where the hell all that funding went.

Good. I've always thought that those lobbying for illegals, junkies, the less unfortunate, and then dumping them in other neighborhoods should have to "foot the bill". You make millions a month, but you want our $20/hr to pay for the stuff you think they are owed. Chickens always come home to roost.

Don't leave out the Champagne Socialists, the rich, greedy, unscrupulous liberals along the lines of George Soros.

Their newest member is the co-founder of BLM. She has been buying lots of fancy real estate over the past several months. That includes a home for herself on the other side of the country, in an upper-income, mainly white part of LA, Calif.

The burghers of Beijing, China laugh and cackle at what's going on across the Pacific.

This is wanton destruction of NYC. Total madness. They might as well setup 90 random Claymore mine fields in and around the city.

The real estate crash and especially the depopulation will easily cut the city population by half. It really will be "Escape from New York" for real!

All with hand-picked homeless. You don't actually believe they are going to let just any ole homeless people in there do you? No, it will be attractive single mothers, ole cat ladies, nice men, and women basically with mental health issues. And, of course, their occasional, immature, spoiled, misguided, and rebellious children, that they refuse to do anything else for.

They are just converting one of their ole churches they don't use anymore in their communities for selected homeless people and their brat-grown kids they are trying to teach a lesson to. Just a back doorway tool to get their kids off to rehab after an intervention, rejection, and then reconciliation. Soon they will be bragging how their child was once homeless and now enlightedned.
