In the next few years the homes will be required to let homeless people in.

Agree.

This is what idiot liberals wanted. I’m happy for them.

Still waiting for Governor Abbot in Texas to send all of bidens imported mexican kids to D.C.

One way bus ticket, drop them off in front of White House, and the pelosi mansion with directions to just knock on the door.

Bet this neighborhood is home to a lot of conservatives as opposed to limousine liberals.

Also would bet this isn't the particular neighborhood De Blasio has his primary residence in.

Liberals talk about how walls are racist...yet have the tallest walls of all surrounding their homes. They say guns are not needed, but demand that there are people with 'high capacity magazines' and automatics are there to protect them. They lobby for homeless shelters in rich neighborhoods...but not in THEIR rich neighborhoods.

And how are poor and homeless going to find food to eat in the richest part of the city? I guess they will have to traipse downtown to find some decent food. Unless the hotel will have a 4 star restaurant...

From the same original link:

Real estate agents describe it (Billionaire's Row) as an area south of Central Park, between 57th Street and 59th Street from north to south, and stretching from 8th Avenue in the west for eight blocks east to 2nd Avenue. Trump Tower is just to the south.

Property values are going to fall quickly with this news. I shouldn't have bought that 238 million dollar penthouse.

Didn't trump renovate the plaza hotel?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79744900

Trump Real Estate. Plaza is listed under "Commercial."

The Plaza Hotel is a luxury building.

The Park Savoy homeless shelter is near the luxury Plaza Hotel. (one block away)

I know what you're thinking, the selection of the shelter may have something to do with Trump's properties being nearby.

Trump Tower is also 2 blocks away.
 Quoting: Doctor Congo

No...not thinking that. I'm wondering if it has to do with Central Park nearby....just more of "open spaces" for the homeless to roam and hang out.

A few years ago they also opened up a building for the homeless. I think it was across from Central Park. West side, around 72nd street.

I found this so far...

These people are going to be used as guinea pigs, as the rest of the homeless around the country! They will all be exterminated one way or other by TPTB. They will all be jabbed, poisoned with fluoridated water, GMO foods, toxic substances from the sky, 5G radio microwaves, drugs, alcohol....ect.... They and along with the rest of the human race are all test subjects!!

All I can say to TPTB is that you are violating our free will and....

Re: Elite Billionaire Neighborhood in Manhattan to get a Homeless Shelter
Good, now bring back the mental institutions for those homeless that need help, build them right inside those homeless hotels. Give 'em the top floor. I'm serious. And add an addiction clinic as well.

We have a lot of mentally ill people that have no where to go and no where to get help so I'm all for bringing back the institutions providing they are humanely run (not like the old ones where they literally tortured and murdered people).

Don't stop at the homeless shelters; those don't take care of the mental health and addiction issues that contribute to a lot of homeless people; bring back the mental institutions and addiction centers. Would cost society less in the long wrong and help "some" people at the same time.

Have them work in a community garden, community this and that, put them to work and give them some dignity not just free housing, food, vet care, etc., give them JOBS to do, something to do so that they are contributing to society. How about in exchange for their free homeless benefits they clean up the streets and parks.

Rant off.
 Quoting: InTheGLPHood

The mentally ill are already being housed in the luxury hotels...

Among those staying at the luxury Belleclaire on Broadway and the Lucerne on W. 79th Street, and the more down-market Belnord on W. 87th Street, are people who are mentally ill, recovering from drug addictions, and registered sex offenders.

The homeless will have a one block walk to Central Park, pretty nice place to be homeless. The doormen at all the other buildings are going to have their hands full with the now local homeless. And I just thought of the news studios like FOX where you can see out their windows, I need to see how far they are from this place.

NYC voted for this. 90 new homeless shelters in NYC.

NYC's Billionaire's Row gets new neighbors: De Blasio plans to build a homeless shelter in elite Manhattan neighborhood near luxury Plaza Hotel
 Quoting: Doctor Congo

If De Blasio is sincere to New York, he should consider
construction of washrooms for Tourists all across New York. In 2005 when I went to New York, being a Senior Citizen I couldn't control my bladder. When I went inside General Post Office to use their washroom, they didn't let me use it. Instead they showed me a building a mile away. When I went their, they wouldn't let me use theirs either. The is no Public washrooms
in New York. In Center Square there is only MacDonald. There was long lines to use their washroom. That was an experience that I will never forget. Fuck USA and fuck New York. I apologize to Mr. Donald J. Trump. He sincerely tried to change USA, but he was not aware that Fraud is every where. The Mafia of 20's are spread all across USA
