Who?

I could have retired many years before I actually did...

Inflation plays a role in CD rates. Interest rates are currently not beating inflation. Historically, inflation is usually mild during this time. During the year leading up to October 2010, inflation was approximately 1.2 %, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Inflation has averaged 4.38 % since the 1960s. Investors would experience a great loss if inflation returned to normal. Those with long-term CDs without the option to withdraw money or use bump-up rates would lose a great deal of money.

CDs never keep up with the printing presses. It's just a way to lose less money than keeping it under your mattress.

Take a look at prices pretty much anywhere, then take a look at the government numbers for inflation. It's a bunch of BS. The creepy pedo in the white house and his merry band of retards are going to completely fuck the economy.

You seem to be making an argument for bitcoin.

No, I acknowledge inflation as a given and account for it...

I began learning about investing over 35 years ago with CD's, and then learned from there...However, watching CD rates is a clue to market trajectory...Low CD rates means low inflation...
