Today I pay respect and gratefulness to my beloved fellow vets who died weather in service or after.

AND their mothers especially and fathers who also sacrificed in many ways as well.

Happy day to all patriots.

Today, I will say a prayer for the men who died alongside me in Vietnam over 50 years ago. I will pray for and remember the members of my family who have died in service to our country in 3 wars. I will also go to our small town memorial service where each year the crowd gets smaller and those that go get older. I look around to see what faces are missing this year. Soon my will be among the absent.

Yes, I've seen this too. I've lost friends on and off the battle field. 3 of my friends died from opioid pill addiction - either intentional or unintentional suicide. The VA were pumping them out and prescribing them like Motrin.
