"Express Yourself" is not a love song. It's a philosophical statement. It's definitely pop music, but even most of the alternative songs posted in this thread were pop songs.

One thing that was so great about the 90s was that it didn't really matter what you're philosophy was as long as you had one, and you really believed in it. Madonna was singing from the heart with "Express Yourself", so it meets that criteria too.
