That's a worthy topic. The decline in male music has been even worse than the decline in female music in my opinion.

For example, Ariana Grande today is at least somewhat comparable to Mariah Carey in the 90s. Taylor Swift today is comparable to Madonna in the 90s.

If you look at the male musicians on this list:

I can't think of any contemporary male musicians who are comparable to the top male musicians of the 90s or previously at all.
