I don't think it's intentional but the plastic rice thing is BS too.

80% of plastics are melted down and put into granule form for resale to manufacturers. It's an easy media to work with. Instead of bulky plastic blocks that would need to be separated.

Clearly some have no knowledge of the manufacturing processes used to make certain products.
