Can someone please stop me from drinking

Just tonight I got into another argument,
you won't believe it but it was with a tractor driver cleaning the beach that almost hit me,
Cops were called and everything.
Of course the cops took my ID and were against me.(i was drunk but logical,knew what was right/wrong)
They werent happy when I videoed them and asked for name and rank.

I've dated girls that were opiate addicts and tried to use alcohol to stop...it ain't purdy...

Oh lord I wish I could stop at a couple. Never happens, I have zero control

But the good people at AA are always there to support you.

Only Jesus can rescue you from addiction. Ask him for help.

Big mistake! Do not do this OP! There is a SMART Recovery that is a bit different than AA, you might want to look into that. For the first week or two of your quitting alcohol, carry around a water bottle with sugar water. It will stop your cravings.

True. But many alcoholics think their habits are "moderate".
They don't realize or want to admit they have a problem that's negatively impacting their life.

Definitely go to AA. I'm almost 7 years sober and made it due to AA and a sponsor.They're not easy to find, but just keep going to meetings firstly.

I absolutely hate the stuff, wont take it again.
Second weekend in a row Ive been in trouble with the cops after taking this stuff with alcohol. It stays in my system for days.

You could look into Delta 8, depending on if that’s legal where you live.

You can vape it, or buy a variety of edibles.

Also, I think a lot of the over-drinking / eating / etc. during these lockdowns has been due to boredom.

Maybe pick up a new hobby or get back to one you used to enjoy?

Hobbies can be expensive, but so is alcohol and hobbies won’t usually ruin your health!

If you are taking pills and drinking, and you have health insurance, please go to rehab and at least get a 5 day detox.

Work can't fire you or even ask what's the prob AFAIK.

If you have health insurance they'll come pick you up and take care of everything.

The poor guys on Medicaid and whatnot can't even get a counselor it's sad.

How do you find weekends when everyone else and friends are drinking?
They are the hardest days for me, I would go anywhere to avoid weekends. But everyone is drinking and having a good time. I dont want to be left out even though I always end up like that, alone

Holy shit. I used to hate your guts but you are real if you did that. Never date a gurl that is on the xanax. That is a 10 year very bad ride down.

Just keep going. They are everywhere.

Don't worry about the sponsor or the steps just keep coming back. They will accept you as you are. the only requirement for AA membership is a desire to quit drinking.

Everything feels better, more fun, I feel confident

Drink near beer. It will fuck you up about 5% of real beer but you still get the buzz a little and you get to drink with friends.

For me it was nothing was worth doing without the buzz.

When your brain heals a little and new connections emerge, that changes.

AA doesn't work for everybody. In your case just skip every other day and then 2 and 3 and so forth. You can drink moderately if you stick to the plan. Blackouts and arguments are a waste of time. Smoke a little weed to help moderate alcohol. The problem is if you can't drink at all, AA will keep you sober for a while until you see it's all just bullshit like life itself. It just doesn't matter.

AA has a principle of keep it simple. Anyone who can do that stretch is very simple. Most of the rest of us have minds that are firing neurons. AA is bullshit for that. The best place I ever found for a friend was Moderation Management. Turns out it has about the same success rate as AA. 5%. Turns out after that the same success rate for someone doing nothing but not drinking is also 5%.

If you got it, manage it. Manage your life around this. It is not as bad as being a coma slab or a wheelchair person. Remember that every time you want a drink right now before the weekend. The weekend will be there. Get smashed. Just do not start a weekend early and you can live a normal life.
