Same reason in the midwest everyone has to have a giant pickup truck. The only thing the haul is their fat wife to Outback once a week.

Any pickup truck with a body lift over 3 inches in height is in violation of federal NHTSB regulations, and may be in violation of state standards, as well. Additionally, the bumpers must be at a certain height regardless of the amount of lift.

Here in NJ these standards came into law back in the 1990s when, IIRC, a young boy and his grandmother, who were riding in the back seat of a sedan, were basically decapitated by the bumper of a lifted truck that rear-ended them.

I know minivans look dumb, but man, the Honda one has a ton of pickup, amazing visibility, and the thrid row has twice the room of an SUV thrid row.


I just can't do it. I cant be the minivan guy, but I love how they ride.

I never got the appeal of trucks, until I inherited one and started driving it. I can see all around me when I drive it. Love that thing.

I know a lady who got rammed by a buck and almost got gored by his antlers. She was driving at the time, and he came at her from the side. He went right through her driver’s side window. Since then she always drove the tallest truck she could find.

I lost a family member a few years back. She was in a head on collision with a truck. Her car was small. Everyone in the truck survived, one with injuries. She was killed instantly. I had to clean the blood off of her completely crushed wedding ring.

Trucks are much safer to drive than small cars.

I would like one of those Elon trucks.
