That would be considered a Common Law Marriage, in all states.

She needs a lawyer.

If she was a stay-at-home partner, or if she makes under a certain amount per year, the legal aid office can direct her to a list of pro bono attorneys who can help her.

Depending upon their living/financial arrangements, she may be entitled to a lot more than just her stuff.
