Quoting: Biden is not my President Waitresses, waiters bringing me my food and beverage while I sit comfortably in their establishment is fine, but this other nonsense has to cease. Don't get paid enough? Too damn bad as there are plenty of good paying jobs widely available. I'm done subsidizing crybabies. Then don't go to the same place twice, they will remember. Actually, putting together a to go order is about the same amount of work. They have to make sure the order is right, add stuff to the bags, sometimes pack up some things themselves, add all the extras like plasticware, napkins, fill all those little plastic containers with the dressing or whatever wet things go on the side. They still have to deal with the cooks and with your payment. It's easier to just sling a few plates, check back and fill the water. Gotcha, you mean like do the fnn job you were hired to do? |

Tips are expected in the restaurant industry, even for to go orders. Personally, I like to prepare my own food. I worked in that industry for 10 years a long time ago and I know what goes on back there, even then. Nowadays, the animosity from the Marxist college students and the illegals is ten times worse. I've spent a few years serving food in many different restaurants and never once have any of them or their employees expected to be tipped for carry out orders. Of course, I was working in the industry before the "everybody gets a trophy" millennials could cross the street on their own. Having been a server, I will always leave a tip. If you cover all the bases and don't make me hunt you down for anything, you'll get 20%. Last I waited tables, it paid $3.55+ tips....that's much different than someone at subway making $12/hr or a barista at starbucks making $14/hr. I'm simply not leaving a tip for someone to work a cash register and hand me a drink or burger. |
