Do not, do not, fucking DO NOT rely on one word of information coming from ID.me, who is the for-profit tech company using gov contracts to build their national digital ID product for all consumer/retail, gov, medical transactions.

State governments are/were forcing citizens to enter into legal contracts with ID.me and hand over all confidental info inclusive of birth certs, marriage licenses, divorce decrees, access to credit reports and biometrics through forced use of the ID.me app...

IN EXCHANGE FOR unemployment and other government/public trust benefits.

That's extortion.

There is so very much to this situation. But the net is: watch out for ID.me.
