Training of officers was changed some years ago after analyzing why LE officers were getting killed more often by less trained, far less trained, shooters. They found the more shots fired without trying carefully sight the target was better and more effective than traditional target shooting. Hence multiple rounds when trigger is pulled. Also, one or two rounds may not stop someone jacked up on drugs. Was the officer aggressive once he started shooting? Yes. But that follows training protocol. |
