We are facing inflation so big players are looking for assets that generate income. Realestate is one form to keep up with inflation because you can adjust rents to keep up with the pace. So the calls are from companies interested in buying it. My house is not on the market at the moment. [link to www.wsj.com (secure)] Even if you have a home, as these investors buy up houses around you, who is going to want to live in a neighborhood of renters? I don't care what the price of rent is, many people don't take care of homes they rent. And, aside from illegals, you could have homes being turned into HUD homes. I don't like HOA's, but they could be helpful..in that they can state no homes in the HOA can be rentals. |

If they believe there can be monetary appreciation, then they will risk the capital. Have housing prices peaked? Obviously not. Should you sell? NO! Not yet. Should you buy? Depends on how long you can afford to hold and how quickly you can move properties. I am not a buyer in this market. If you can afford to pay cash and flip then yes, that would be a good way to make short term capital gains. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 ESV Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Anonymous Coward User ID: 80441625 Spain 06/14/2021 06:30 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The reason they are targeting single family homes is because of the buy sentiment after Covid. People didn't mind living in small apartments, being closer to the city centers because they could go outside and enjoy the life that the city offers. Covid made people realize that having a comfortable home with a yard, BBQ, room to exercise, etc. Is very important. Plus, as the world is going to move towards remote working, homes are essentially becoming offices too. So, people are putting the $150 of public transport or auto insurance/gas/parking towards renting a better place. Or, buying them at extremely high costs. |

Cities are extremely expensive. I can’t see this happening. At least not for many decades if that. |

Even people who own land have to pay taxes on it or they lose it. Dinesh D'Souza 2:00 - 2:20 [link to www.youtube.com (secure)] 2:00 If you have Cain and Abel, and Abel is a shepherd and Cain is a farmer, and Cain says "Okay, I'm now going to put a fence around the whole world. I own it. Cause I'm the only guy here - you're a shepherd. And my descendents will now inherit the earth. And anybody who shows up is a usurper." Quoting: Dinesh D'Souza (Transcription)2:17 Rousseau (1712-1778) says the first guy who puts up a fence and claims he owns something is a con-man. 2:23 So, the American Indians came. They happened to be first. They came in a bunch of tribes. The Navajos who got the land took it from the Hopi or the Pueblo. The Sioux who got the Black Hills took it from the Cheyenne. 2:44 So when [the Sioux] say "Oh, give us the land back!" "Are you going to turn around and give it back to the Cheynne?" "Oh no it's ours!" "Really?" The taxes are worked into the rental prices also. So either way we pay them. Would still rather own the home than rent. Look for places with low taxes. Then when the home is paid off it’s not a problem to pay the taxes which can be very low. |

No way I would rent to to anyone these days. Would you? It’s too much of a risk. No one is owed a place to live honestly. You move in with family friends or get roommates. If you don’t have a good credit score then no one will look at you unless you have a lot of money up front. Even then it’s difficult. No one expects banks just to loan money because you are down and out. Why should anyone just let you rent something when you are a risk? Maybe you should buy something and rent it out if you feel bad for people. |
