Also, even though we are in the same county, she is at the Northern most point and I am at the Southern most point. About 55 miles apart. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80367787 Wendy is from CA. She lost her job and and then her house and came to Florida because her father was living here. She could not find work here due to age and health issues. After her father passed away she had no place to go. This is more good information, Thank you again. I am in Alachua County, do you mind sharing what county you are in? |

She is going to have to do this ..! and get Herself some stability ... as in work a job ... I think she needs a good week of solid sleep in a safe place, and hot showers. Then maybe she can regroup a bit. Right now in her situation even that seems out of reach ~ |

My son moves in, says he's staying till he has enough money for him and his GF to move out. He has a cat. Very nice too. She is trained, only eats cat food, never begs, and is never a bother. When the time comes, he finds a place, but then finds out you have to pay way more if you bring pets per month. I've been at my place for ten years now and never had pets. I feel sorry for her, so I said okay, you can stay. Now, it would be hard to let her go. She is nice and comforting when I need it so, I relate to these people now. And yes, no shelter will take you with animals. Some apartments don't either... Living has taught me one thing; nothing is certain...except salvation through Jesus Christ! |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 80568679 United States 07/05/2021 12:18 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I am familiar with Wendy through a different website and have followed her for months. She has been offered many suggestions about ways to improve her situation but has not wanted to do any of them (Social Services, food stamps, shelters, live-in housekeeping or caregiver jobs in exchange for rent, roommate situations, low income housing, etc.) She apparently has a lot of problems with her van and every time something needs repair or she has an unexpected expense, she posts a video on GoFundMe and asks for donations. She has a job delivering food and also collects Social Security in addition to GFM, I'm not sure where the money goes; many people live on less and have housing expenses to boot. It seems that saving some of the SS funds would be enough to get off the street into a studio or some type of housing. All her furniture and stuff had been in storage but I think she sold all that. She has a place to go for showers, according to what she says but I don't know how she does laundry or does any meal preparation without a stove or fridge. I was sympathetic to her plight in the beginning until all my suggestions were dismissed. She has job skills but can't work in an office due to her situation and not being able to leave the dogs alone. I think it's legitimate but have to say at this point this lifestyle seems to be her choice, and it is a downhill spiral. If anyone is able to help her other than continuing to throw money at the situation, it would be a good thing. |
