Made in China complaint, triggers CCP re-education response
Synopses: I bought game cameras a couple years back, left them new in the box, and now that I'm setting them up, they're having problems reading SD Cards.

I wrote the company, and complained about all the 'made in China' electronic junk not having quality controls in place; nothing more.

This was supposedly an American game cam company that I was writing to, but read their 'rebuttal' below. Soon, many of us may end up in re-education camps in the USA.

The CCP response:

"You have a deep prejudice against Made in China. Now Made in China is spreading all over the world, serving and changing the world.
On April 27, local time, the official website of the United Nations published a signed commentary article entitled "China: The Rise of the Trade Giant".
The article pointed out that in the past 25 years, China has rapidly risen from a “marginal person” who accounts for less than 1% of global trade to a “trade giant” doing its part.
The article especially affirmed China's cornerstone role in the global economy during the new crown epidemic.
According to the listed data, China's global export share will increase to nearly 15% in 2020, far ahead of the second-ranked United States.
Please let go of your prejudices, you are not qualified to comment on Made in China. "

Re: Made in China complaint, triggers CCP re-education response
Here's my original letter to the company; looking for advice. Before writing them, in trying to solve the problem myself, I found that both SD cards, and cams have known rates of failure; which led me to believe there's zero quality control.

Hi,
I've got two cams(brand name redacted). I've had them new in the box for a couple years in conditioned storage. Now, I'm finally getting ready to set them up, and am trying to use microSDXC Card with Adapter.
Neither of the cams(model redacted) are reading the cards. When I put the new SD Card in, the icon on the LCD screen, has an red X across it. When I turn the cams on without the SD card inserted at all, a large message across the face of the cam reads in red, "memory card missing".
Any advice? I'm off to buy SDHC cards in hopes that'll work, but in reading about all of this electronic crap, it's all out of China, and I'm guessing quality control out the window for at least the SD cards; is it the same for your trail cams? What do I do next?
Thanks in Advance,

That's a fucked up response, for sure! They could have smoothed this over rather easily by helping you. This response was clearly intended to shove you into a corner and on defense instead. Personally, I would splash this all over the internet forums and groups that may use these cams. Go leave horrible reviews everywhere for this company.

Follow up with the SD cards though. Are they formatted properly?

If they still don't work, I would escalate this and demand a refund immediately. It shouldn't matter if it has been a couple of years. Defective is defective.

If the supposed American company doesn't comply, sue them in small claims court for defective merchandise and fraud.

Don't bother going all Karen on them directly - they clearly won't care. Send a return/refund DEMAND in writing. When they ignore you, sue them. (It must be in writing for the lawsuit.)

File a report with the BBB as well.

I’d happily shop at a “Made in America” store if one was around, even if everything cost more. Trying to buy only American-made goods is too time consuming for most people. Although unlikely to ever exist, a Walmart-style store with USA merchandise would be very popular.

I agree, and would do the same; I remember Walmart of the early 80's advertised as all Made in America; then the kids took over....

Now, all things are made in China; yet they, the ruling CCP cohorts think we don't have a right to complain about their products, we buy! "Please let go of your prejudices, you are not qualified to comment on Made in China. ""

From what I read about SD cards, often times straight out of the box, many don't work. The game cam was designed to format the SD card itself.

I bought new SDHC cards, they're working, but obviously since some 'varieties' don't work, and aren't mentioned in the cam instructions, is at the least interesting.

Also to the point of me saying, 'made in china crap', aren't all consumer electronics produced there???? If it were American made junk, I'd have said, "Made in America crap"..

Manufacturers who produce substandard crap should be held accountable, but never mind, the CCP states we don't have a right to comment on things we have no choice, but to buy from them. Welcome to the new America.

We're taught to hate CCP because it's said that you're not allowed to criticize them

Absolutely true. The snow shovel I bought last winter had a big label on it says 'proudly made in USA', broke before I could finish the whole driveway.

Re: Made in China complaint, triggers CCP re-education response
To me, it is a miracle SD cards work at all.
The technological leaps forward since I was young have been remarkable. I started out using a slide rule in my engineering classes.

Then a 10 mb hard drive was this large device that was the size of a breadbox (or 2).

SD cards were developed by high tech companies in Japan and California. (Sandisk, Panasonic and Toshiba) I think Taiwan and S. Korea are also major makers and perhaps Vietnam as well.

Not sure if China is even a significant exporter of SD cards.

Are you sure China made the cards you are complaining about?

I grant you that the CCP is evil, but I don't think they are the cause of all evil in the universe, or if a bad SD card necessarily qualifies as evil. :)

Like I said, I think it is a miracle that the damn things work at all in the first place.

And even if it is a well made SD card, the slightest bit of static electricity, or voltage spike from the device you plug it into, or dropping it on the floor or getting it wet, or over heating, can wreck the card.
Or even simple age. SD cards only last so long, even if conditions are perfect.

When you have semiconductor components working at the scale of the atom, simple random shit happening like alpha particle strikes from the Sun can render it dead. Entropy is a harsh mistress. :)

There is a PDF download at this site of a short paper that is worth a read.
