Spent most of my life in Marseille as a trauma surgeon and became an US citizen in 1997. Now live in SE Ohio. Happy birthday, Dr. Congo! My father was born in South-Africa, but grew up in Congo. My granddad had high functions in the military and police. He was chief police - commissaire en chef - of Kinshasa until the independency. I'd love to hear about this, too. This is some history that very few Americans know anything about, including me. I don't know much about what went on in Africa with the Europeans, other than little bits. I know a lot of nasty shit went down, though. I had a Dutch boss whose twin brother was in the French Foreign Legion and he said things went on that were too terrible to even talk about. One of my favorite films is the Battle of Algeirs. Another subject I'd like to know more about. In his poem Human Pride, Marx admits that his aim is not to improve the world, reform or revolutionize it, but simply to ruin it and enjoy it being ruined: With disdain I will throw my gauntlet full in the face of the world, And see the collapse of this pygmy giant whose fall will not stifle my ardor. Then will I wander godlike and victorious through the ruins of the world And, giving my words an active force, I will feel equal to the Creator. “Looking for consciousness in the brain is like looking in the radio for the announcer.” – Nasseim Haramein, Director of Research for the Resonance Project |

Am getting ready to feed the horses, probably get to see the sun come up too. It would have been nice to get some of that promised rain, but I need to move hay today. “Queen Sarah, save us from the Black Dog King!” - from the play, Dissocia [link to tasaonline.org.au (secure)] "Never be anyone's French poodle." - Mr Hamilton |

Except Sunday. -At least once each week just eat for a three hour period. -Feast every Sunday. -Keep moving, don't sit too much. I get a lot of exercise from walking with Ginger Granny and from my gardening. -Be grounded, I almost always barefoot. -Don't use aluminum or nonstick cookwear. -Always have a plan for the next year -Keep your mind active, I research conspiracies and do Sudokus. -Be kind to your colon. Eat lots of roughage. -Every now and then learn a new activity that will create some new nerve pathways in the brain. This year I tried to learn how to play the piano but I'm hopeless, music is beyond me. -When you are young you should do some long distance running to get your heart big and strong. Lifting weights will help your bones to grow thick. Always eat enough. I see too many young girls today that have a cylindrical rib cages, that's not healthy. But in the end genetics rule. Watch Hogans Heroes and look at General Burkhalter, that obese fellow lived to be 99. Adrenachrome might have been part of that though. |
