Natural detox by drinking only purified water frequently, broth with fresh greens (bok choy, leeks, spinach, kale etc) hot baths are so good as well as steam. Apple cider vinegar in bathwater is good. Castor oil definitely for cramps. Used to hold a giant hunk of moonstone on my abdomen and meditate when nothing else helped.

Yeah, I've been putting my hands on my belly, and letting energy run. I haven't had a bad cramp for a couple of hours, so it is getting better. Sometimes I'm getting a little hot, but it backs down within a few minutes.

I don't have a moonstone. I have lots of other stones/crystals, but they're mostly for the heart up, with nothing for the digestive tract. I just googled what stones are good for my type of problem, and peridot is it! I also like that it works through the heart center.

I'm going to get myself a piece of it when I can get to the rock shop. I'm thinking I'm going to need all the help I can get.

Welp, I found a piece on ebay I ordered...'tis pretty. If you scroll down two rows you can see it--

Peridot is my birth stone... my beloved ring was stolen from my house maybe 30 years ago now along with other treasurers like the JFK real money.

Oh, that sucks big time that it was stolen. Items that are "beloved" by us, it hurts when they're no longer with us.

My Love Rig?....it would just about kill me if they went missing. I'm hyper-vigilant about knowing where they always are.

BTW everyone, I wrote an article about this Love Rig I'm going to post on our website when it's done.

A Love Rig is a set of three stones, a piece of jeffrey, a piece of green chlorite in situ, and a piece of sugalite. The jeffrey and green chlorite in situ go in the right hand, the sugalite in the left. The arms are extended out in a V-shape, at the heart level, feet spread to shoulder width.

When positioned like this, you will feel the energy start running from one hand, to the other hand, and through your heart center. This cycle ramps up, going very fast. Heh, the first time these stones were put in my hands, I almost came off the ground, as in levitation. I was up on my tip toes, started laughing, and plopped back down on my heels....chuckle

It is a set up for healers, to build healing energy up in the heart center to share with the ones your working with, but it is good for anyone.

The Medicine Woman who told me about this set up made me promise I wouldn't tell any others about it (about two decades ago). She said it was too powerful, and wouldn't be good in the wrong hands. She has since passed, and I don't think something that is such a good tool of healing should be kept secret. We've had too many secrets on this planet.

I named it a "Love Rig" because I would come home everyday from my job as an addiction's counselor in a methadone clinic so very drained. I'm an empath and it was a tough crowd in the clinic....charlie

I started taking the stones with me to work in my pockets, and would use them in position when I got a free moment. I did stop coming home drained. I figured if opiate addicts had their "rigs" of destruction, then I had mine made of love, henceforth the name "Love Rig."

Also, I don't know that if you get these stones, you'll start levitating. 99.9% of the time when I put the stones in my hand I become so grounded....it feels like my heels have dug an inch into the floor. The only other time I came close to that, it was just my heels coming up, was when I was thinking about writing the article two weeks ago. I took my heels coming off the floor like that as a sign that I should let the set up fly, for others to read and know about.

If you are a healer, please do try to get these stones and use them like I've noted. The jeffrey is all mined out, but I have found it on the net for sale. You only need a small shard of it. The others should not be as hard to find.

Happy heart and love healing!....flower

And I don't know how much of a "secret" this Love Rig is, but she was very adamant I share it with no one.

I am a very trustworthy person, I want that known, but I can't see any value in keeping quiet about it, especially given the days we're living through.

Heh, about nine days ago I thought about PMing you, telling you I thought I was going to expire that day, jokingly, I was feeling that rough. I decided it wasn't something to joke about, and didn't....but I wanted to.

I think the energy influx we've been experiencing is hard on our older bodies. I mean, my heart was turning over in my chest and throwing up what seemed like energy balls up the right side of my shoulders, directly into the base of my brain, where they would like explode...EDIT: "pulse" is a better word, but the pulse was a very strong one. I'd very quickly feel a lot of pressure there when it arrived to the base of my skull. I was wondering if I was going to have a freaking stroke.

Good times on the Big Bluesy Marble, eh?.....billlaugh

But I've noticed today that seems to have all calmed down. It hasn't happened. I can't really remembering it happening the last few days, but the last few days have been rough, so....yeah.

I did last night very much feel like I had walked out of a fog into the sunshine-shining.

Interesting alike timing for both of us....hf

I just read this fascinating article about the "gut brain"....heh, from Popular Mechanics.

[link to getpocket.com (secure)]

It had me to thinking, while I was not stressed or unhappy at the time of the onset of colitis, there indeed have been many, many stressful years in my life, and the damage from that had long been done, before last week.

I do realize that emotions are tied to the gut, but to call gut issues "psychosomatic" like it's a mic-drop moment is just not enough. The word was used correctly in the post, but it's a blanket term from psychiatry, and as a psychiatric diagnosis, it is "immature" with application to particular dis-eases happening in our bodies. As well, most people take issue with the term, because it has been made out to be all about having a kooky brain.

Anyhoo....ahem.

While I vaguely remember reading about the intestinal tract having a "gut brain," this article explained enough of what is going on about this "intelligence" in my belly....there being neurons in there, these likely dysfunctioning in my body on full tilt right now, and I now know the particulars of what to work energy with...at least to the point I know there are neurons in there, they do have particular functions, and those are in need of healing support.

It's funny, because I only use Firefox for GLP. I don't pay any attention to the Firefox front page....or any other front page of its like for that matter.

BUT today I felt the urging to scroll down, and I saw that article, and read it. I love being led like this, in this fashion, with that particular urging feeling. It does serve me well to rise to the instinct of intuition.

Perhaps look into organic green coffee enemas? I know it sounds unfun but it causes the liver to dump all the toxins through the coffee passing the hepatic vessels and also cleanses the colon. If the coffee seems too harsh, you can always try Pau D'arco for a type of detox or Chamomile to soothe - also probiotic enema (gets the probiotics "in there" without having to survive stomach acid). There are plenty of recipes out there. I tried to look up some of my old research but it has been scrubbed ('magine that). [Max Gerson]

Of course do lots of research before embarking, there are many personalized issues surrounding these health claims (i.e., gallbladder v no gallbladder etc etc).

Also when you cannot eat, try sipping the heavy syrup off of peaches, it's fairly easy to keep down. Be Blessed!

it's due to inflammation. most processed foods are inflammatory. stop eating refined veg oils (olive and coconut are ok), stop eating white flour, anything that is overly processed is bad but those 2 are the worst. start eating a gram of vitamin c a day (it's an anti-inflammatory), and start cooking from scratch, rather than packets.

Colitis…I remember having issues after antibiotics. Antibiotics, especially certain ones, are quite good at causing colitis.

Take great care with the antibiotics you are on, and find some stellar powdered or liquid prebiotic and probiotics for the long term.

I’d venture to guess low residue or low fiber or both….juice but not smoothies…no pulp…

don’t be afraid of colonoscopy findings. The prep is the least fun.

I don’t know that I have a solution for you, because I am not a doctor.

Mastic gum may help with some of your suffering, but you’d need to use it for several weeks before noticing benefit, if any is to be found.

Always discuss with your doctor before starting anything new, and don’t believe a word you read on this site. Do your own due diligence and ask a lot of questions next sit down with your GI doctor.

Yes, I have problems with inflammation. I take numerous supplements for that for years now. It's an issue for me.

And yes, the flagyl and cipro are kicking my white and shiny heinie all over the place. I feel them sucking the life right outta me...sigh but I knew that would happen. On the other hand, my gut is getting better.

My pain/cramping has subsided, save for when I cough or sneeze, which I'm doing more of on the meds. I might've had a minor upper respiratory infection. Dust is a real problem in the desert. Good to know that's getting fixed up, too.

I dry heaved today, but that was because I went to the store to get FODMAP foods, it was very hot out, and it was just too taxing for me. I knew it was going to be rough going out, but I had to. At least I have everything I need all the way around for a week. I should be back to my hippy-skippy-happy self by then (I hope and pray).

I know many of you gave a thumbs down on the antibiotics - they are freaking strong and harsh - but without them my gut would not be getting better, of this I'm sure. I was really f'n sick, youse guyses. And I have probiotics arriving to my front door tomorrow. I am preparing myself to get on the good gut flora depletion asap.

I have an appt. to meet with an Internist who will do my colonoscopy, and after the very rude convo with my now ex-PCP doc yesterday, he will probably be taking over my health care.

Heh, I wrote a blistering post about her earlier, the PCP doc I talked to yesterday, but it wouldn't post....billlaugh

Oh, quick question before I log off. I have too types of sparkling water, passion fruit and strawberry.

I know before I had this problem that the sparkling water would be like a digestive aide.

Does anyone know if it'll be good or bad for me right now?

I'm skerred to try one of them, in case it'll make a mess of my gut, but I would like to add that to the water and aloe vera juice I'm drinking all day.

And I got some lactose free, organic milk today. It is very good! 2% is very creamy tasting....flower

Re: Colitis: If you've dealt with it, please come in and advise me
My daughter was the youngest diagnosed with Crohns disease, 20 years ago. She was 5 1/2 years old.
My advice: Go Gluten Free, dairy free, stay away from soy. If you go vegetarian stay away from soy. Make healthy homemade juices. If you need prednisone take it for only a short period of time. It is dangerous and causes insulin dependent diabetes. If given medication be leary of side effects. My daughter was given low dose chemo for years. I was told it was an anti-inflammatory. It is my opinion that Crohns/colitis people end up with cancer because of the cocktail of drugs that they are given. My daughter always complained about the drugs. At 15 she refused to take them, and it was the best decision we ever made. Make sure you have competent specialists and multiple opinions, or somebody will decide to do some radical surgery. Good luck. Hoping and praying that your health is protected!

If your daughter has Crohn's disease, did she have antibiotics at an earlier time in life? Or maybe the mother when carrying the baby?

I read this with interest because my sister with the Colitis who took a lot of the drugs to control it has just been diagnosed with Breast Cancer.

I hear ya. I did use the term "unfun", so I recognize it's an iffy subject. I would have never thought I'd have to do something like that either however the more sick I became, with no forthcoming answers as to what was going on or how to fix it, I was willing to try nearly anything (within reason).

Don't forget, "what you resist persists" - so if you get stuck (which I hope you don't), do research what I've told ya. You will see many folks cured and helped.

Also maybe try "Hippocrates Soup". It's very healing.

Panther, I've just now today stopped bleeding out of my touckas. This is a relief. It freaked me out to no end seeing that blood.

It's that I'm not sticking anything up there, because I don't want to start bleeding again. It needs to heal.

I did a series of six high colonics years ago, and while really very unpleasant, the health outcome was obvious.

I may consider something like that in the future, but not now. It's just not a good idea.

A lot of the veggies in that soup are big no-nos on the FODMAP diet, so I'm not going to be making that....but you are a big ole sweetheart for posting, trying to help me...hugs

This morning is the first time my stomach growled a little. I baked off a small piece of salmon, and cooked some fresh organic baby spinach....omg, I snarfed if down. It was so good. I bought a nice honeydew melon I'm going to crack into in a bit. Looking forward to that.

So far, this FODMAP diet is working for me. At least I'm having no acid reflux or the stomach discomfort I'd get after eating some meals before....I freaking digest food so slow.

But hey, if I am gluten or lactose intolerant, then maybe that would all go away if I stopped eating it...I really don't think I'm lactose intolerant. I never get the runs from it like others have.

I love this lactose free organic milk, though, and will have not a problem one drinking that the rest of my life. It's just the bees knees....eyebat...chuckle

Cheese, that's going to be harder, but hard cheeses are okay, so....yeah. I've already sometimes substituted plain yogurt for sour cream. I'm going to have to get over it, and at least cut back drastically on the soft cheeses. Boohoo.

I think a lot of my digestion issues in the past have been because I mix carbs and proteins, and that messes with the stomach acids produced. One acid for one or the other, carbs or proteins, is released, and then the other is not, because the other one has already released....so that one food doesn't get properly broken down in the stomach before heading on down the pike, and trouble ensues. Fruits are supposed to be eaten without anything else.

And of course, mashed potatoes, gravy and fried chicken or meatloaf are my go-to comfort foods. I was raised by a southern cook. I do like my starches with my meats....but I've got to take better care of my GI tract, especially now that I'm getting older and I have that damn kink in my small intestines that apparently comes and goes....sigh I just have to change my diet.

I don't do well with forcing myself into anything, like you pointed out, "what you resist persists," but that crap I went through last Thursday night and Friday is epic fuckery. It's enough to put the breaks on resisting....lol, that's a messed up sentence, resisting one's resisting.

I am getting better everyday. I just need to get through these antibiotics, and I'm hopeful this colitis event will be one of a kind....heh, it MUST be one of a kind.

There have been posters on here saying they had colitis from a young age for years. My gawd, I can't even imagine a wee one having the unholy crap I went through last week, happen to them. It like makes me want to wring my hands for them, thinking about it. So awful....hugs

But I am feeling better everyday, so....cheer

You sound like you have a handle on it and you sound chipper so that is a step in the right direction. :)

When I was raw vegan for a year (ha!) I made "cashew cheese" that was really pretty close to regular soft cheese, kind of like a laughing cow type, it was pretty good. I can get you the recipe if you want to try it. I have several other vegan cheese recipes too, I tried several, I just offer the cashew one because it was the best imo.

I've run myself through so many "programs" I sometimes quip that 'I'm down to eating ice cubes' and lemme tell ya, for real, I'm darn near it. I hope I did not create it by joking so much about it. I'm diabetic-vegetarian-keto with no gallbladder...which basically limits me (safely) to cheese, nuts and olives. I wonder how many of us are in this boat or are "suffering silently"? According to the internets, it seems a lot of folk have some type of digestion/elimination problems that really affect the quality of their lives :( We're all madly trying different things to eat/not eat, do I have parasites/do I not... etc etc, in reality the cause is probably "space weather" or something weird like that and we're all off base in our approach. Anyhow, glad to hear you are bouncing back! Take care!

Panther Dove, I would like the recipe for cashew cheese. I just researched it on the net, read some recipes, and I saw a lot of comments about how delicious and creamy it is, with good cheese flavor, with one person saying it tastes just like an alfredo sauce.

Heh, I'm going to have to look up how to make gluten free crackers to dip in the cashew cheese. I can see how different herbs can be put in it, how it would be like hummus, except have a different flavor than hummus.

I will have to buy the nutritional yeast and cashews - it might take be a week or more to get those - but it's really simple to make...heh, I was a chef when I was younger, I have this covered.

Thank you, lovey....smile_kiss

It's something I can try after I'm all healed up, and know definitively, after the colonoscopy, what's going on in my colon, though.

My heart goes out to you, I have dealt with this problem for years now. Have taken the cocktail of cipro and Flagel several times over the years, and when I have an episode I avoid the cocktail. Best thing to drink to sooth your gut is slippery elm, it has no taste but it is the best ever for your gut. But the key is more fiber. I drink fruit smoothies with fresh ground flaxseed, kefir and I recommend the Budwig diet. It's terrible to have to deal with, I now have diverticulosis. Good Luck.

Quoting: ALL IS ONE IS ALL

Happy heart and love healing!....flower

it's due to inflammation. most processed foods are inflammatory. stop eating refined veg oils (olive and coconut are ok), stop eating white flour, anything that is overly processed is bad but those 2 are the worst. start eating a gram of vitamin c a day (it's an anti-inflammatory), and start cooking from scratch, rather than packets.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79419723

There are a lot of chemicals in foods so non processed all the way. And in products we use on our skin. Even natural soaps can be a problem. Use baking soda and vinegar on the skin. A little baking soda under the arms will work as a deodorant. Baking soda to brush teeth. Coconut oil for skin. Or just spray diluted apple cider vinegar on skin. Just take the strain off the body for awhile. People have used egg yolks to wash their hair. Finish up with a vinegar rinse. Relax as much as possible. Deep breathing.

Carnivore diet with organ meat.

Take a supplement with grass fed stomach and intestine.

OR fast or eat an elemental diet for a time to give your gut a break.

NO FRUIT! You may be fructose intolerant. Stop eating it and find out.
NO FIBER! Would you scrub a skinned knee with steel wool?

And yes, it sucks. Sorry for your pain.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72954290

Yup. I’ve heard of doing that. Start with one meat and see how your body does. People rarely have bad reactions to meat. Or start with fish. Add in one meat at a time. Then move to diary and see how you do. Then fruits and the vegetables. This will take a little time. But meat has a lot of nutrition in it. You could even blend it up into a smooth soup.

Yes, while I haven't always been perfect about processed foods, I mostly eat well.

I currently have - all organic - jasmine lotion (love-love the smell) and goats milk body butter, goats milk shampoo and bar soap (lovely). The goats milk stuff is expensive. All of the organic body products I've purchased are what I think is expensive - like WOW! - but I think worth it.

Our skin is our largest organ....heh, and most of the time we treat it like a sidewalk.

There are MANY skin products, including cosmetics and sun protection, that have nano tech in them....why? We had cosmetics, lotions, and sunscreen that worked just fine before the onset of nano tech and the transhumanism movement.

All this nano tech in skin and cosmetic products in the USA?....they've been banned in Europe. There are over a thousand products in the USA that contain nano tech, and none of them are required to mark their products as containing antiparticles nano particles (heh, interesting typo...yikes!). Clothes have them. Household paint, too.

Think about that for a....well, it'll only take seconds....that what's allowed in the USA is BANNED in Europe.

That's some fuckery in your head right there, eh?....damned

Naw, I don't mind paying more for "clean and pure" skin products and food, and I don't mind wearing thrift store clothes as much as possible, because they don't have that shit in them.

Good times on the Big Bluesy Marble, eh?....billlaugh

 Quoting: cosmicgypsy

Well doggoneit! I'll go ahead and give you the recipe so you will know where to find it when you need it:

Vegan Cashew Cheese (Spreadable Cheese)
Yield 2 (6-8 oz) ramekins

1/2 c (65 g) cashews
Boiling water to cover, soak cashews 10 minutes. Drain water.

In a blender add soaked cashews then add:
1 t lemon juice
1/2 t apple cider vinegar
1/2 t garlic powder
1 t salt (I use Redmond Real Salt)
2 T cornstarch
1/4 c melted coconut oil (I use organic, unrefined)
1 c water

Blend.

Add mixture to saucepan on the stove then add:
1/4 c (12 g) nutritional yeast
Bring just to a boil.
Fill salsa dishes or ramekins which have been lightly greased. Cover and refrigerate 2 hours. Pop out upside down onto a salad plate, cut and serve.

Other ingredients may be added such as herbs, chopped walnuts, dried fruits, jalapeno, crushed black pepper and other spices.
