Isn't is rather unusual for a fox to attack a human? But I suppose if it's infected with rabies, that would be the cause of its unusual behaviour.
I moved out into the countryside in the middle of a forest and there's a few things out here that I need to keep an eye out for. Rattle snakes is one of them. And then there's the mad deer. And a couple months I was walking through the woods on a trail and suddenly realized there was a raccoon about 8 feet away from me that didn't run off as I got closer. That was rather startling. I did wonder if maybe it was mad or infected with rabies. But, it didn't move an inch. It appeared to be pretending to be a log, next to a real log. Later on the way back it was still there but facing the other direction. And .. I found bear tracks on that trail too. I do try to make some noise as I walk these trails, to forewarn of my approach so to not startle these animals. But it's the snakes I am most concerned about as I go about mowing, especially in the backfield when the grass gets taller sometimes.
