Dogs acting weird howling and barking....will not go outside!

Mine too. And when he does go outside he doesn't venture very far away anymore.

Was this a gradual thing or all of a sudden?

My cat just started this about a week and a half - 2 weeks ago. She'll still go to the door some times but when I open it she runs back to the basement.

I’d say it’s Dogman (if you live near a heavily wooded area) but it usually comes out at night.

I used to think Dogman was a joke too until I stumbled across a channel called Dogman Encounters on YT. He has almost 400 videos of first hand accounts of people’s run ins with this thing. Check it out when you have time. Each vid is over an hour long. I would not recommend listening right before bedtime though. You might not sleep! Lol

It was sudden. A month or so ago. Sometimes he'll meow at me for 20 mins that he wants to go out, and I ignore it because I know he won't. I eventually crack open the door a bit, and he'll just go lay down somewhere in my room. An hour later he'll actually go out, but only to the driveway or the other side of the road.

Same. I'm atop the mountains between LA and Bakersfield, along the 5.

My dog has recently been weird when going outside at night, but that's because of the bear(s) lurking behind my backyard.

I have noticed other wild animals and insects behaving a bit strangely.

I've also been having EQs pop into my mind a lot more recently.

I haven't smelled Sulphur in the past few days, like I did before the 7.1. However, that was down near Bakersfield. I'm going down there today, so I'll let you know if I get a whiff.

Maybe the Heavenly Father will show his displeasure on Father's Day.

Ok so my power went out for about 20 minutes. As far as the helicopter there was a text that went out about 2 weeks ago saying there would be drones and helicopters up surveying the area for fire danger. One of my neighbors said there were 2 drones over our house this morning. This is what might have spooked the dogs. I don’t live near the woods I live in the Desert.
I don’t know what they are up to but got a text yesterday saying they might turn power off sporadically this summer. We don’t normally have fires were I live so I don’t know what they are Surveying? Anyways dogs are sound asleep now trying to stay cool. They gobbled up the lunch meat that I tried to give them earlier lol

I live with my six large dogs on 55 acres in n.e. Alabama...five years now. My dogs use to go exploring and swimming in our creek and running thru the woods...we have a mountain too...this past year or so they no longer do those things...they stay close
