It's ok. Let them have their say. I want this to be a place where people can talk freely. I'm secure enough in my beliefs that I can stand criticism. If my beliefs cant stand up to scrutiny, then what good are they?

I hear you, I am all for free speech as well.
I guess I find it tedious when some christians wear blinders and become condemning on others so easily.
Throughout the thread, you laid out some of your beliefs and practices, from my perspective they sound noble and in tune with nature, and respectful of it.
Myself, I am a Christian and a faithful believer in Christ, but I have no qualms with any belief that is not necessarily Christian based, but nonetheless is invoking positivity, a balance with the earth, and an understanding of the power of the mind and focus.
 Quoting: LTHN.

So what do you say about Jesus coming back to bring war and judgement upon the Earth? As well as the plagues and making a new Earth?

Or are you one of those progressive Christians that doesn't believe in hell and thinks that's all fake?

Seek righteousness, seek humility.
It may be that you will be hidden
In the day of the Lord’s anger.

I said something similar on my other thread. The pre thread lol.

I don't get the us against them mentality that some people have. We're all on the same team here. We just go about it differently. I have a picture of Jesus on my altar and I call upon him all the time for guidance. I'm perfectly happy to fellowship, pray with you and read the Bible. In fact some of my best friends are Christians. (shocker huh)

I may disagree with Christianity on some key points, but I respect the beliefs and views of others.
 Quoting: Green Witch

I don’t get the divisional mentally either, and indeed we are all on the same team. Paths to a destination or ideal can lay themselves out in many various configurations, beliefs and methods, seeking and aiming for a common goal.

The bible was written by men, and assembled by religious organizations and rulers, to not be agreeable on every part of it should be honestly expected, and your respect for others who believe in the tenets of Christianity shows the goodness of a wise mind, and a unifying spirit.

I think the war and judgement will be on sinners who commit heinous crimes, not on people who follow a different faith that strive for a balance between themselves and nature, and whose hearts are righteous.

Re: The Witch's Corner.
So, which idols, goddesses, and demons do you invoke, OP?

I know you have a whole full of that stuff

Probably some Celtic, Greek, and Egyptian, huh?

Do you pet them sometimes?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 73705946

I don't invoke demons but this thread seems to be attracting them. I don't have too many idols. I have a wolf statuette and a little figurine of Artemis. Thats about it for idols. I don't worship Gods or Goddesses as that is a wiccan thing. I sometimes call upon Hecate, Brigid, Artemis, or Celene if I feel the need to. There is also Cerridwen and Awen.
 Quoting: Green Witch

Ah, I see.

1) Wolf 2) Artemis 3) Hecate 4) Brigid 5) Celene 6) Cerridwen 7 Awen

You'll get back seven demons.
You swept for them. You get them.
Enjoy your demoncraft and vile, cursed house.
No one could have cursed it quite like you.

Typical profane muggle and normie. Stereotypical as week old newspaper.

You and a million other chaff flakes of Babylon.

Matthew 12

43When the vile spirit is gone out of a person, it walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none. 44Then it saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when it is come, it findeth it empty, swept, and furnished 45Then it goeth and taketh with itself seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that person is worse than the first. Just so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.

Hello! I’m a pagan and some consider me a witch although I don’t do any of the stuff witches do. One thing I have noticed from working magic is the tiny pupils. Do any of you have the tiny pupils? I’m talking like pinpoints most of the time, maybe 4 millimeters across max. I can still see fine and if I take some kind of cool drugs that should enlarge my pupils, they don’t.

Re: The Witch's Corner.

Anton LaVey was a character. He was right in the fact that modern witches and wiccans don't want to be associated with Satanism. Who does?

Where I disagree is that we all feel the need to denigrate each other over our beliefs. He was referring to modern wicca and reconstructionist witches looking down their noses at Satanism.

I see it as a valid path for some people if that is what they choose. Personally I don't know why you would want to go down such a dark path, but that's just me.

Almost all self proclaimed satanists don't believe in a literal satan. LaVey didn't either. Matter of fact, he told the FBI that satanism was 'a completely made up thing"
 Quoting: Green Witch

Witchcraft uses the same forces that occult does.

Creating chaos to bring order / balance.

And only non-theistic Satanists don't believe in a literal Satan and not only do some of them blatantly lie but they are used as a facade for the public face of the Satanic church.

Anton LaVey was theistic , he even refers to Satan with reverence and holding in esteem in various parts of the Satanic Rituals. That's not something non-theistic people do.

https://imgur.com/u1JEJI6

[link to imgur.com (secure)]

What kind of person who doesn't believe in Satan would do such a thing and write an entire book on Satanic occult rituals??

Of course he is going to tell the FBI a half truth when being investigated for murder , yet Satanic Ritual Abuse (SRA) is a totally REAL thing that the FBI investigates. His clever wording of report is only a play on etymology that the word 'Satan' and 'Satanism' is relatively new but is just another rebrand and relabel of the same deceptions and occult which have existed since ancient Sumeria and even then were plagiarizing and twisting God's Word.

https://imgur.com/EL48W0t

 Quoting: This is my GLP

Witchcraft uses the law of return to affect changes in one's perception and thereby alter their reality. Christianity, Theistic and Non Theistic Satanism operate on the same principle. The difference is Satanism uses different tools and images whereas you as a Christian uses prayer to affect change. In witchcraft, we use the pentagram (a christian symbol from long ago), the cauldron and the athame. These are just tools to help focus the mind. The underlying principle is the same in all cases.

We believe that darkness and light coexist and need each other to be in balance. We use shadowork to bring the darkness in ourselves into alignment. It has nothing to do with Satan.

When you speak of Ancient rituals, you are referring to high or ceremonial magic which is something most modern witches, myself included do not do.

As for LaVey, He was a showman above all else. Hell he was a carnival barker for goodness sake. Most of what he did, like Crowely, was soley to piss off Christians. A fact that he admitted to. Levay did not believe in a literal Satan. To them, Satan was a representation of Rebellion against what he saw as excess in the Christian Church.

And yes Lavey hated the new age movement. He saw them as wannabes. Ironically, most witches today view it the same way.
 Quoting: Green Witch

You think just because the word 'Christian' wasn't around until 2000 years ago that your methods predate Christianity?

Jesus is the Word and the Word existed before anything. The devil has been plagiarizing things of God since the beginning and people fall for the confirmation bias.

Also the pentacle wasn't in use by 'Christians' until the 3rd century which was likely when Gnostic Christians , that deny Jesus' resurrection and aren't real Christians , began using it. Solomon's supposed ring also is a debatable point of topic , particularly the timing seeing as he began worshiping false idols.

REAL Christianity does not operate on the law of return , that is backwards. Changing ones perception to 'alter' their reality is just another way of normalizing being delusional. This world is under the influence of the devil and the difference is that Christians are to be joyous regardless of the trials and tribulations they may face and to not be conformed by the world. The concept of being able to pray for whatever we want is false , yet unfortunately accepted by many. If we aren't praying in accordance to the will of God then our prayers are not going to be answered the way we expect.

This is not the same as deluding oneself into believing an altered version of reality that isn't actually the reality of the situation. And your mention of the pentagram just goes to prove that is another thing which has been plagiarized and taken over by Satan but labeled as something good.

Just like the snake on the rod that Moses put up for healing in the desert which later got turned into a god and known as the rod of asclepius , which is used today for representation of healing and medicine and the original meaning and source has been covered up.

But the word 'Pharmacy' comes from the Greek word 'pharmekia' which actually means sorcery.

And just like witch-craft , sorcery , divination and enchantments are forbidden by God.

Yes, the 'balance' is also a circular lie. What you perceive is a light is actually the light of Lucifer , who disguises as an angel of light. That is not God's light. It is a lesser light which is actually darkness , when compared to God's light , and creates chaos to then bring about order and thus the desired outcome.

So if you are saying that your 'green' (or white / blue for that matter ) magic is dependent on the existence of black magic , or if your version of 'good' is dependent on the existence of evil , then what you're saying is that you can only be 'good' so long as their is evil which means your 'good' is actually dependent on creating evil.

Your 'good' is a lie then and not actually good then , only a lesser of evils.

2 Corinthians 11:14-15

And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds.

Another meaning for this verse is literally what you are indicating , that the end result of your deeds is based on corresponding with the deeds of wickedness. You need evil in order to be 'good' , which is not actually good if you are depending on evil.

And again , Anton LaVey never once said he didn't believe in a literal Satan , that is only speculation. Just because he founded a so-call atheistic Satanism , doesn't mean that he himself was an atheist.

As you said , he is a trickster. So by founding atheistic Satanism , can trick people into thinking it's 'okay' and make them feel like they aren't actually 'evil' if they don't believe in a literal Satan.

Worship of oneself is the same as Luciferianism , minus the worship of Lucifer!

It is making oneself and own desires out to be god , which is the same as becoming a slave to one's own wants and lusts. And if someone thinks themself a god , then that means they also think whatever they want or whatever their own will is , must always be right - even if it's wickedness.

If someone thinks themselves a god , then they can rape , murder and steal and because of their 'altered reality' , can say these things are actually right and they are helping to maintain the 'balance'.

Alister Crowley shared the same things with many new age and Luciferianism concept too.

Preparing the world for the Antichrist deception.

And I'm not trying to bash or say you are evil , but these things are not actually good - especially when anyone can make good out to be whatever their altered reality dictates.

Whether my practices predate Christianity or not is irrelevant. Every modern pagan religion, including wicca is a reconstruction because there is so little left of the pre Christian, Pre Roman faiths after nearly being wiped out by the Church and suppressed for centuries

Your entire argument assumes Satan is real, the Bible is accurate and was divinely inspired. I don't believe any of those things.

The pentagram actually predates Christian and occult times. It was first used by the Catholic Church to represent the wounds of Christ. Later it became an occult symbol used to represent the elements. If you go to Europe and look at some of the old Catholic Churches, you can still see the pentagram used in windows.

I know there was much more to your post and I appreciate your posting. I'll have to read and get back to you. You hit me with quite a bit lol

Ok just checking. It’s a rumour I’ve heard but have been unable to confirm. Mine may have come from staring into the sun so much, during my training for the solar eclipse back in 2017. It gets addicting and I admit I still do it sometimes.

Re: The Witch's Corner.
Hello. My name is Aven, also known as the Green Witch. I've been on GLP for awhile now but I've rarely posted.

I'm starting a Witch/Pagan/Wiccan thread so those of us who practice the Craft can have a place to hang out and discuss topics relevant to us. I feel like this place needs a counterbalance to the Christian posts which now seem to dominate.

This isn't a pagan exclusive thread. We welcome all who wish to participate, With respect, I ask that there be no personal attacks, no trying to convert us to your faith, and no preaching about condemning us to eternal hellfire.

GLP has many neopagans, wiccans, witches and other non Christian folk who I feel have been sidelined. I'd like to have a place where we can talk, discuss and have fun without all the hate and bitterness.

To all the Christians. You are most welcome here but I would ask you to be tolerant of other's faiths and beliefs as you would have us be of yours.

I want this to be an open, friendly place with no bashing of faiths. That goes for bashing the Christian faith as well.

Now with that out of the way, witches, lets ride!
 Quoting: Green Witch

All forms of "magic", whatever you decide to call yourself, (a witch, magician, wizard, whatever), are enabled via the effective usage of your indigo-ray vibratory center located in your forehead which is also called the third eye or chakra.

This is used in conjunction with one's ability to co-ordinate with and request useful assistance from the various millions of entities which inhabit this planet's astral planes.

You could use your third eye to literally levitate on a broomstick and fly through the air if that was your fancy.

The indigo is extraordinarily difficult to open and use effectively. It requires a total balance of all the other energy centers. This requires dedication, self-sacrifice and the ability to both know and love the self, as well as give and receive love to others.

Very few humans possess the ability to do it, which is why most will never believe in or understand that workings of a magical nature are possible. But every single one of them *could* use it if they learned how to do it and made that commitment to opening their third eye.

One and the same. And directly mentioned in Acts as a false deity and earlier in the OT as a demon , also affirmed by the Britannica to be a rebranding of an existing deity , which I will show here.

The same deity as mentioned earlier , Ashtoreth , which Solomon was drawn away too. Also known as Ashtar and Astarte.

Diana, in Roman religion, goddess of wild animals and the hunt, identified with the Greek goddess Artemis. Her name is akin to the Latin words dium (“sky”) and dius (“daylight”). Like her Greek counterpart, she was also a goddess of domestic animals. As a fertility deity she was invoked by women to aid conception and delivery. Though perhaps originally an indigenous woodland goddess, Diana early became identified with Artemis. There was probably no original connection between Diana and the moon, but she later absorbed Artemis’s identification with both Selene (Luna) and Hecate, a chthonic (infernal) deity; hence the characterization triformis sometimes used in Latin literature.

ARTEMIS in Greek mythology is the daughter of Zeus and Leto and the twin sister of Apollo. In Greek religion she is concerned with the transitions of birth and growing up of both genders, as well as with the death of women and with the spaces outside the cities and the human activities in them—especially hunting and warfare. In the Greek East she is also a city goddess. Her equivalents in Anatolia and the Near East were the Phrygian Cybele and the Persian Anahita. The Romans identified Artemis with Diana, whereas the Etruscans accepted her under her Greek name as "Artume(s)."

[link to www.encyclopedia.com (secure)]

Now let's look at Anahita...

She is associated with powerful goddesses of other ancient civilizations such as Saraswati of the Hindu tradition, Inanna/Ishtar of Mesopotamia, Sauska of the Hurrian-Hittites, Astarte of the Phoenicians, Aphrodite of the Greeks, and Venus of the Romans.

[link to www.worldhistory.org (secure)]

Now Inanna...

Inanna is the ancient Sumerian goddess of love, sensuality, fertility, procreation, and also of war. She later became identified by the Akkadians and Assyrians as the goddess Ishtar, and further with the Hittite Sauska, the Phoenician Astarte and the Greek Aphrodite, among many others.

[link to www.worldhistory.org (secure)]

Astarte, also spelled Athtart or Ashtart, great goddess of the ancient Middle East and chief deity of Tyre, Sidon, and Elat, important Mediterranean seaports.

[link to www.britannica.com (secure)]

So we can see that Diana = Artemis = Hecate = Brigid = Celene = Anahita = Inanna / Ishtar / Astarte / Ashoreth

Same deity.

Now let's see what the Bible has to say about Astarte / Ashoreth

ASTARTE; ASTORETH

ash'-to-reth, ash-to reth (`ashtoreth; plural `ashtaroth; Astarte):

1. Name and Origin

2. Attributes of the Goddess

3. Ashtoreth as a Moon-Goddess

4. The Local Ashtaroth

1. Name and Origin:

The name of the supreme goddess of Canaan and the female counterpart of Baal.

Acts 19:18-24

And many who had believed came confessing and telling their deeds. Also, many of those who had practiced magic brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all. And they counted up the value of them, and it totaled fifty thousand pieces of silver. So the word of the Lord grew mightily and prevailed.

When these things were accomplished, Paul purposed in the Spirit, when he had passed through Macedonia and Achaia, to go to Jerusalem, saying, “After I have been there, I must also see Rome.” So he sent into Macedonia two of those who ministered to him, Timothy and Erastus, but he himself stayed in Asia for a time.

And about that time there arose a great commotion about the Way. For a certain man named Demetrius, a silversmith, who made silver shrines of Diana, brought no small profit to the craftsmen.

Judges 2:13

They forsook the LORD and served Baal and the Ashtoreths.

Judges 10:16

Then the children of Israel again did evil in the sight of the LORD, and served the Baals and the Ashtoreths, the gods of Syria, the gods of Sidon, the gods of Moab, the gods of the people of Ammon, and the gods of the Philistines; and they forsook the LORD and did not serve Him.

Psalm 106:37

They sacrificed their sons and their daughters to demons.

Jeremiah 32:35

They built high places for Baal in the Valley of Ben Hinnom to sacrifice their sons and daughters to Molek, though I never commanded—nor did it enter my mind—that they should do such a detestable thing and so make Judah sin.

2 Kings 17:17

They sacrificed their sons and daughters in the fire and practiced divination and soothsaying. They devoted themselves to doing evil in the sight of the LORD, provoking Him to anger.

Outside the Peloponnese, Artemis’s most familiar form was as Mistress of Animals. Poets and artists usually pictured her with the stag or hunting dog, but the cults showed considerable variety. For instance, the Tauropolia festival at Halae Araphenides in Attica honoured Artemis Tauropolos (Bull Goddess), who received a few drops of blood drawn by sword from a man’s neck.

[link to www.britannica.com (secure)]

So yes , you are invoking the name of demons or more accurately fallen angels. For even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light , as is written.

It's even interesting that Artemis' most familiar form in ancient times is Artemis Tauropolis , or Bull Goddess. Just like how Molech / Moloch / Molek is depicted as a bull.

And here is what the REAL Satanists and demonology has to say about this 'goddess'

HIGH RANKING GODS AND CROWNED PRINCES OF HELL

There are four great God powers who rule Hell; Satan, Beelzebub, Astaroth and Azazel. Satan is the most powerful and Ruler over all.
Gods of great rank and power assist only their confidantes and intimate friends. Ea/Enki (Satan), Enlil (Beelzebub; the original 'Baal'), Inanna (Ishtar, Isis, Astaroth) and Shamash/Utu, Ashur (Azazel) were the four most popular, powerful and notable Gods throughout the world. They were the Original Gods of Mesopotamia. All are related. Beelzebub/Enlil is Satan/Ea's half-brother.

Astaroth

She was known to the Canaanites as ASTARTE, to the Sumerians, she was known as INANNA, to the Babylonians, she was known as ISHTAR to the Assyrians and the Akkadians, ASHTART, ASHTORETH, ASHERAH, and ASTORETH, to the Egyptians, ISIS, ASHET AND ASET, to the Phoenicians, she was known as TANIT-ASHTART and ASHTAROTH. Her Ugaritic name was ANAT.

Zodiac Position: 10-20 degrees of Capricorn
December 31st-January 9th
Tarot Card: 3 of Pentacles (Azazel told me the Ace of Cups)
Planet: Venus
Candle Color: Brown or Green
Animal: Cobra or Viper
Metal: Copper
Element of Earth
Rank: Grand Duke of the Western Regions of Hell; Crowned Princess
Astaroth is a Guidance Councilor for both Demons and humans. She deals in mostly human affairs
Astaroth rules 40 legions of spirits and is a Day Demoness
Astaroth is also The Treasurer of Hell

Astaroth is a very ancient Goddess. She has been with humanity, as have Satan and Beelzebub, since the beginning. Astaroth is Satan's daughter.
