Just throwing this out there for your consideration. Do you know what sympathetic magic is? It's the basis for many forms of Voodoo, Santeria and object magic. Basically, when you do a spell and you use an item or representation of someone, it's like having that person or object right there in front of you. Because that person's energy has transferred to the object which you are using.

Anything can be used as long as it has a connection to the person. A picture, an item of clothing, a coin that belongs to that person. Words written by that person on a piece of paper. Words that person typed on a keyboard that have been printed out.

If I take the words you type, print them out and use them in spellcraft, I might as well have YOU right here in front of me.

Just something for you to think about.

What is your personal justification when you cast a spell or curse on someone? Or teach someone to cast spells like you state earlier in your thread?

As I said in that post you referenced, I take all spellcraft very seriously. It's not something to be taken lightly. 99% of the spellwork I do is for myself. In fact I very rarely cast spells anymore. Simply because I have no need to. In the totality of the Craft, spellwork is such a tiny, tiny part of it.

Hexing and Crossing. First you have to understand that there is no white or black magick. It's all about intent. You can take any spell and use it for good or bad.

I have done spells in the past to bind. Magick done with harmful intent opens you up to all kinds of things you'd rather not deal with.

My personal justification is self defense. I practice defensive magick. As for cursing, I've only had to do that once and that was an act of last resort.

I think it’s not about white or black, it’s about the intent of controlling. Even a love spell is black magic because you’re trying to influence someone to do your will. An attempt to control others or get what you want. It’s cheating. What is your personal justification to do magic when you do it and should witches in your opinion be held accountable?

Hello. Nice change of pace for a thread.
My mother had practiced divining with runes and cards. We would celebrate solstices rather than calander holidays. All seemed normal to me. My father would have men light a candle and say prayer every night before bed until I was old enough to decide I did not want to anymore.
I see both sides as I am older and for that I am very lucky.
I have found that I as well am good at divining more so with pendulums and sticks then with cards and runes. I do not practice any spells so very much a novice. I do have a fascination with magic squares . I have very high level of empathy that has made life struggling at times do to addiction problems. Animal speaking is another area I Excell at. Also having very strong ties with the wind and fire.
What kind of witches are out there?
I mean you say you are green, are there other colors and if so what do they mean?

That's a tough question and one I get asked alot. Almost all spells fall within the gray area, being a bit black and a bit white. Every spell you do, you do to influence the environment. Your spellwork creates an imbalance that nature, by definition must move to counter, and (in theory) correct the balance by altering reality to your will. From that perspective, all magick can be seen as black because you are seeking to control nature.

Should witches be held accountable. I believe yes if you can prove a direct correlation between the spell and the outcome. Say, if you cast a crossing spell and that person dies. Try proving it though.

My personal justification for spellwork is to better myself. To evolve and grow. To that end, I practice magick for knowledge, good health etc
