This has been promoted on GLP 10,000 times over the past 20 years, yet not ONE person advocating this concept can demonstrate it.

In all likelihood, it probably has 20% application to most people.

Those making the claim that “you create your own reality” are plagued with problems they will never admit to you. Financial problems, health problems, marital problems, family problems, employment problems, etc etc etc., yet despite all their “you create your own reality” carnival barking, they can’t make ANY changes to their own situations.

But I’ll concede a person’s perspective and interaction with the world around them certainly impacts their reality. Without a doubt. But that’s a very different thing from what we’re discussing.

G-Dub, you’ve mentioned a couple times that you have arthritis in your hands. Did you will that to occur? You can spell cast and think positive thoughts till the cows come home, but at the end of the day you’re still dealing with pain in your hands that you CANNOT make go away.

Ty is a very intelligent and capable man in the Craft, yet despite his best intentions he cannot make suitcases stuffed with $100 dollar bills fall out of the sky, and he doesn’t exactly have headhunters lighting up his phone with $250,000 a year job offers.

To be fair, I've never tried to gain wealth or increase status through any magickal/spiritual method.
It's always seemed like an off limits thing.
In part due to what GW has spoken of, leaving it up to the universe.
What if the path of least resistance to me gaining a couple hundred thousand is the violent, bloody and early death of loved ones from whom I inherit?
There's potentially another sense of where this choice to not do such things comes from, relating to what I spoke to you about in email. I listen to that part of me when pondering things.

Something to ponder regarding ethics and power; One can only be shown to be trustworthy with power when one can show they are capable of NOT using it.
"Because I can" is not a good enough reason for anything.

Imo anyway :D

Reaching for too much 'personal gain' is the haunted 'third rail' of all things spiritual and esoteric and, as history as far as we know it shows, the end bane of all who reached too far.

Most of US decent folk instinctively know the difference between 'too far' and 'just a bit more'.

Everything has a price, of course.

Nothing is properly gained without a compensatory 'sacrifice'.

Part of Wisdom is knowing the difference between 'just a bit moar' and 'over the line'.

The part in red could easily have been left out and yet the statement’s meaning remains the same.

Glad you found it insightful, you're right as well.

The history of reaching too far; agreed. Still, so many refuse to learn from past. It amazes me that there is a mindset out there that we should stop looking at the past.

Sacrifice is interesting in that way. I find it especially ludicrous to sacrifice someone else, something else, something that isn't yours in seeking to gain. Take from someone in order to 'gain' for yourself. Just theft built upon theft. Everything has a price, including theft.
This is of course quite different to offering a gift.

The word wisdom is always funny to me. I've been called wise, told things like 'yeah but you have wisdom'.
I know there are quotes from far 'wiser' people than me regarding this but; I'm just a fool who stepped outside the box, experienced a strange and dangerous new world and started thinking on what I observed.

I'll stop now, lest we get in to a circle jerk of patting each other on the head for being correct :P

That is a valid concern which I've experienced first hand.

When you have a desire and intent, the universe is going to see that you get there. It may take several lifetimes and you may be dragged kicking and screaming, but you're going to get to where you want to be.

The squeal was short, then gurgle, pop - never again to jeer,
We cleaned him out and the dog cried out; some offal for the pupper!
Then on the spit our roast of pig - and another pint of beer,
This thing so high and mighty once; "Call Elf! We've got a tasty supper!"

I'm just watching the mad scramble lol
