Your perspective of this ingrate is admirable, but misplaced. You mistakenly ascribe a characteristic that is not there. Perhaps when you have dealt with hundreds upon hundreds of these Mindless automatons with not ONE convert, you will stop wasting your time and energies pandering to them.

They’re cockroaches.

One does not feed cockroaches. They are to be eradicated.

A wise person I know once told me: “When someone shows you who they are.... believe them.”

In other words: stop bullshitting yourself that the person has some redeeming qualities that are deeply hidden and need time and coaxing to be brought to the surface. If people ever reach a place in their life in which they’re finally ready to learn, they’ll present themselves as students seeking to learn. They won’t hide it.
